View Full Version : Connection Lost after joining a game

First of all, hey!

So, I've been trying to get my friend into worms armageddon again, for the old (awesome) times sake.

And here's the thing. She can log in just fine and everything, get's into the chatrooms, and can join games.

Once she has joined a game, she can chat and pick a team and everything, though she can't see any changes (if there were any) done the the preview of the map, or game settings, as far as I know. Then after a while, she gets kicked off with the message; "the connection to the network has been lost"

Other info, if it even helps; Her IP is typed correctly in and all, though no other options was checked or filled in on the configure screen, if I remember correctly.

If anyone know the cause of this, or what might be up, it would be great if you could help, as I'm clearly no genius on the matter myself either.

Sounds similar to this problem: http://worms2d.info/Troubleshooting_FAQ#When_I_try_to_team_in.2C_nothi ng_happens

Can you get your friend to record a packet log (http://worms2d.info/Recording_a_packet_log) and post it here?

Thanks for the quick reply, we'll try that^^

Another thing that's been happening now, is that it's possible to stay in the game all the way to the start of it. As said, map doesn't really change on the preview, except for that it kinda flickers briefly for a second when the host changes maps before going back to what it was. Upon the game start, you are sent to the map in the preview, with all the other teams, but they all "disconnect" right after start...

So basicly, now the other disconnect upon game start, instead of her disconnecting inside the game room.

Probably makes no difference to know, but eh. Will look up the shark thingy now!

Ah, wait, that would be another problem.

Sorry for late reply, haven't been at my friends for a while. Desynchronization sounds about right, judging from how everyone in the game "quits" the game upon start. Just seems like it's unable to import or load the schemes and maps the host sets, but stays in the game until the start, and get's sent to the default random map while the other's get sent to the map the host picked.

(My friend said she didn't figure out how to do get thee wireshark for packet log to work, so i'm trying on that now if it would still help)

Also tried downgrading earlier, but lead to the game not working at all. Though, I don't think this problem is part of the 'known issues', not sure.

Again, thanks for the help.

To fix this problem, see the answer two questions above (http://worms2d.info/Troubleshooting_FAQ#.22ERROR:_Could_Not_open.2Fcre ate_team_File.22_when_editing_teams) (you need to make the W:A directory writeable by W:A).

Uhh...Running WA as admin seemed to work out fine, I just tested it with my friend, and the previews on maps etc load properly.. So guess it should work, I feel alil awkward^^ Such a simple solution to it, and I didn't even try it! Thanks alot for the help, think it should be fine now.

Thanks from both of us <3

Glad to hear it, though be warned that running W:A as administrator isn't recommended and may cause other problems...

Another words, don't install the game to "Program Files" under Vista or Windows 7, instead install it somewhere else.
