I have installed the game on my laptop, and unlike my desktop, whenever I launch the game I get a continous chiming sound - I think it's a windows sound, perhaps an error or something. It does it every second or so. I've tried puting WA as a trusted application in my firewall, and also diasbling the firewall altogether, but no joy. I'm using Vista. Any ideas please folks?

Did you see any message after the sound?

Did you type anything or click anything before hearing the sound?

How was the screen?

Could these be the same sounds as described in this post (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showpost.php?p=722466&postcount=2)?

After much searching I discovered it was the Windows Critical Stop sound. It must have something to do with the colour fix as the other post said, as it ran fine straight from the original WA.exe file rather than using any fix in the end.

If that is the case, the error sound indicates that you are using two different solutions (wkColorFix, and Explorer-terminating batch/utility) to solve the same problem. Remove either and the sound will go away.

Maybe, if it's an Asus, it reaches a critical temperature? A friend of mine have this same problem: it's from Asus NB Probe.
