Are there any news about Worms Reloaded yet?

When will it be released?

When will we be able to see any teasers or trailers?

Anything...

Excellent questions rppc! Surely, there must be some screenshots or a demo or something you can tell us all!!! :-)

We should see some videos coming very soon, at least what last posted here. Maybe this coming week?

No confirmed date what I know, maybe another month or two, just guessing.

Wait for Gamescon 2010: maybe in Cologne, the 17th August, someone will go there...

Correct...but there are 3 days in which developers can do conferences. These days go from 16th to 18th.

Today our favourite development game company has announced great news incoming in the following week about Worms Reloaded. Now the moment has come!

Yes! Finally! I read it on twitter too.
I really wonder, why they didn't give us anything yet. It's about time!

Good to see the Bridges return, although it kind of looks a bit off to me.

What looks off to me is that "Explosions create bright lines around point of impact" thingy which they hadn't in since Open Warfare. I like the soot effects but they seriously should delete the lines, they're almost an eyesore.

That trailer implies PNG-Based (or at least Image-Based) maps, with the shot of all the worms standing on the logo just near the end.

I don't know crap about video cards and stuff, so would these specs run it?

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 32- bit
Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E6300 @ 2.80 GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 2048MB RAM
Direct X Version: DirectX 11
Chip Type: Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
Approx. Total Memory: 780 MB.

Yes, i've looked at the specs, but i'm not experienced at graphic card stuff (because i've never really gamed on a PC except with the old PC worms games) so if someone can tell me wether my computer will be alright running it, i'll be grateful.

If not, I'll just have to wait and get a graphics card next year or something.... it sounds good, not too exciting or groundbreaking though, although 70 voice banks and 70 hats sounds lovely to me.

Ehm...memory 1GB Ram. The 2063 MB is the space for the game required, trust me. =P

Where it says Chip Type, that is my video card. It's far from great as I don't seem to be able to run much 3D games that well.

I know most of the other stuff is okay for running it... just my video card i'm worried about

If that was the case then you are using an integrated video card which is simply put, very crap. Chances of it getting decent drivers to support all the features used in games these days is slim to none.

Shadowmoon
29 Jul 2010, 17:23
Surely it should be able to run a game like worms! I even searched up about the card on google, and some people said they could run some 3D games but just not that good, so surely worms will run fine???

Oh it's £17.99, great :( with a price like that this better be real good.. Team 17 have failed to really impress me lately

Thurbo

Thurbo
29 Jul 2010, 19:18
What about the themes, by the way? Steam site says 13, though I've only seen 12 so far: Manhattan, Medieval, Construction, Sports, Cheese, Warzone, Arctic, Jungle, Hawaii, Hell, Space and London. Does that mean they included an Armageddon theme? Would be too great!

Shadowmoon

Well, it states that that is my video card if I go on this site: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri

I just wasn't expecting that price.... but WOW 2 had a much higher price and obviously Reloaded is going to have far more content than that game, so i'm not too disappointed, I just hope that with that price that the game is finished, (ie: Not as much bugs as Worms 2 Armageddon had on release :p)

Thurbo
29 Jul 2010, 20:09
Oh yea, I fear of the bugs too (there'll certainly be a few, I'm very very sure) but I hope beta tests will kill most of them. If not let's find them ourselves when the game releases, then we can avoid them next time :p

128MB vidcard for 2d worms?

Bah, won't be able to play it then, unless I fix my imac.... and then I'll have to play it under windows... I thought this was comming to both pc and mac simultaneously, what with steam now working in mac os and everything... any news on the mac version?

128MB vidcard for 2d worms? This isn't 1996, just because the gameplay is 2D doesn't mean the rendering is 2D :p (hell you should be glad it doesn't require an actually modern card like most games).

The reason I ask is because when this game was announced they also mentioned a Mac verison was comming, not because I expect every steam game to work under mac os.

Haven't heard much about it since then tho, any official word on that?

Even HL2 worked on my crappy old 64MB card, and looked great in the process. I'm sure if T17 had aimed to get this working on the least powerful specs as possible, they could have still achieved a result that looked this good.

Well, does Steam have any gay restrictions on DLC and patch sizes, or what they are allowed to change? If not, then chances of the game being updated more frequently then the console version is high.

DjNabs
30 Jul 2010, 04:14
team fortress 2 has been updated 120 or so times since release. last patch was around 500mb. there are no restrictions like that.

Seems there's alot of talk about specs here. I got a Nvida GeForce 6100 nForce 405. (integrated graphics I think) I did research on how much video RAM this thing has but I couldn't come up with anything. (legacy product I guess) Anyone know about this particular brand of "card" and possibly know if Reloaded will run on it? I want to pre-order but not before knowing if this will run properly or not. A demo of the game would be more definitive but no info yet on whether or not one will be done.

I also loved those old WA/WWP maps but it kind of makes me sad to see Team17 isn't able to draw a few more of those from an artistic point of view very high standard maps. I wonder how many of the old artists still work for Team17?

My faves are the car dump (or the result of a disregard of traffic rules, whatever) and Chateau de l'Assassin because they got imported to Worms3D as well :p

*facepalm* because it's a port of W2:Armageddon. Also, this game is meant to be the sequel to W:A, as well as it shall bring up old memories. :)

After some research, I kinda figured as much, plus with that "Can You Run It?" link posted a few posts above that showed some examples of what games can run, it stated my vid RAM was 1.1 GB (total RAM in my machine is 2.5 GB I think) As for the other specs, my machine had those covered, it was just the video RAM that had me worried seeing that I don't own any extra video acceleration hardware and I'm not a major PC gamer or anything. Thanks.

Cathulhu
2 Aug 2010, 10:32
Never ever depend on Can You Run It?, especially if you have an onboard videochip. This site does only very, very basic tests. It doesn't do an actual comparison in terms of performance. But yes, the game should run on this onboard videochip. But don't expect high resolutions or effects. The chip is weak.

franpa
2 Aug 2010, 11:04
It's usually not because the chip is weak but due to it using your System RAM instead of dedicated RAM.

Cathulhu
2 Aug 2010, 12:56
That is just another bottleneck, the chip itself is slow as hell on it's own.

billt17 over at steam forums said that mac version is still planned but they haven't even started working on it. I'm too lazy to find the actual post though.

Edit:

Here, found it:

We have not even started on a MAC version as yet. We have never done a MAC game and thought it prudent to finish the PC version first.
