I have always preferred 3d worms better. 2d is good, but I prefer 3d. I always have been more into 3d games then 2d games.

I think I said that somewhere before, but I've got several reasons for either playing 3D or 2D.

Very simple: 3D is much fun to play with friends (party-ish), 2D is good for playing strategically.

Oh and of course I like both because I like Worms. And the worms as such. Humour, music, everything.

I actually enjoyed the 3D games quite a bit. I think they did a very good job with the games and in general I think the 3D games could've been really great if given a few sequels and if T17 allowed themselves to deviate enough to make the game own the new dimension, rather than trying too much to hark back to the 2D games.

on the other hand, the 2D games are ALREADY great, while the 3D were just on their way. I definitely prefer the playstyle for the 2D games, without question. they just worked better.

There is many reasons to say 2D worms are better, but 2 are enought: the rope and the visibility.

For my wife and myself it's 3D all the way. We still enjoy 2D, but it doesn't even come close to Worms 4 Mayhem, which we've played constantly for the last 2 years. One thing we hope for is an add-on to this game or (even better) a new 3D game. Team 17 even said they enjoyed making Worms 4 more than most of their games, but unfortunately didn't follow up with more new games. It was one of the only real 'unique' and new versions of Worms and it just worked. Like I said, we still play it loads with friends it's just immense. The main thing is the sense of freedom in the 3D worlds and the visuals for using jet packs, weapons etc. It's great playing 2D, but we bore much more quickly playing 2D and things feel so much more repetitive. Someone has said that the rope is better in 2D, but shotguns, sniper rifles etc are much, much easier in 3D. Flying the super sheep around in 3D is a blast too - literally. Keep the 2D games going for sure, but just get another 3D game in there for the love of god and take things forward again

I find 2D gameplay superior in Worms for a number of reasons (I can't be bothered to list them all now), allowing you to play much more strategically and do much more in the limit of your turn time.

3D is fun too, sure, but you're surrounded by water everywhere. One of the reasons I dislike it.

A T17 staff once said to me a few month ago before Reloaded.
We find most of our fans want 2D games, so the next Worms game on PC is 2D. However that's not to say we have finished with 3D

2D or not 2D that is the question, so what is your answer? We'd love to know how many of you liked the 3D versions of Worms, please note we are not asking which is the best, just did you like the 3D versions too? :)

They are perhaps thinking about making the next Worms in 3D again, I'd really love to see another one :)

can anyone tell me is there any plan for new worms game in 3d?
believe me or not I bought PS2 only for worms 3D, worms forts and worms mayhem. I didn't buy any PS3 because there wasn't any 3D worms anymore.
I think Team17 should also work on 3D worms again.

Unfortuanatly no one knows if they are making another one soon. Last I heard from a Team 17 staff, they were not doing one.

I loved Worms 4 Mayhem. The 2D Worms games are nice but they cannot TRULY compare.

Team 17 needs to make more 3D... :D

Amazing how the posts are so close in which is better, but the votes say 2d. I totally should of added a both vote option. The 2d votes might not be beating 3d so bad if there was.

i liked 3d worms on gamecube, it was great, but the online one for xbox was a buggy piece of ****.. 2d is good too tho... if its not buggy, theyre both awesome!!!
