OK.....here I go....when you play a proshoopa schemme or almost any rope schemme, sometimes you dont have time to check the weapons list....so, I think it could be a good idea to attach the weapon list for those schemmes (when you hide the weapon list, it doesnt hide at all).
Maybe ataching the complete list to the screen is useless or annoying, but how about attaching the first 2 lines of the weapon list (partially hiding the list), that would be enough to know if there is a weapon on a certain F key and whats the first weapon on that F.
Im a bit sleepy right now, so, probably, my english was so lame in this post.....so, I leave this img for the ppl who couldnt understand my "engrish" to understand my idea:

It would be great for hysteria too!
Good idea!

Yep, good idea.. but I think it'll be very complex without accessing to the sources.

Considering that you can view your teams arsenal during your opponents turn, I can't see where this would hold any major importance. Not to mention that it would look very clumsy unless it was redesigned in some way.

maybe its imposible to do a wormkit module for that, take in mind that i never coded a wormkit module and never bothered about learning how to code them......its just a suggestion (I suggested it here coz I think a Wkmodule could be better than including it in a future update)

You can make a WormKit module that does anything that's possible to do with the source code, it just takes more (though in some cases less) effort.

But shouldn't the ability to remember what weapons are available to you, even when under pressure of the final ticks of the turn timer, be considered a skill too?

That's what they told us when we were little, at least...

Not everyone lives in a warzone though so I doubt many are brought up to think that way :P

@GreeN: Not everyone plays team games you know. Why would it be clumsy? Make it a client option like resolution, volume and background detail etc. rather then a host controlled option.

The big question here is: does something like this give the user an unfair advantage? If so, it can be considered as a cheat.

Maybe we can enable it by writing a message on the chat ( rubberworm's crate finder ).

@franpa:

1a. jsg specifically mentioned this being useful for rope schemes.
1b. Even in single player games, you have hot-seat time before your turn.

2. The weapon description/name bar looks clumsy being chopped in half like that. You also lose the ability to see how many of each item you have.

But if you are not using this for team games, where are you using it? I literally cannot think of any single player schemes other than when practicing multiplayer schemes on your own, or playing TCB challenge-style maps. In which case, the former is called "practice", i.e. practice analysing your arsenal on-the-go/in hot-seat time. The latter, of which all TCB challenges have been designed to work with the current worms mechanics, could definitely class this type of alteration as a 'cheat'.

I'm sure there is a bright side to this idea somewhere, but it's not a big one, I'll tell you that.

1) He said it "could" be a good idea.

2) It's a mockup, I'm sure it can be coded to have no label as you wouldn't be able to mouse over things anyways unless it is open.

1. What's your point?

2. Refer to my first post

3. Lets stop making lists

ok, ok, ok......this topic is turning into a useless flamewar without any sense at all.
I said that this could be usefull for rope based schemmes, but I didnt say why it could be useful.....
Lets supose that you start a turn without any weapons (just rope, chute, etc), there are 10 crates in the land (maybe its a rubberworm shoopa schemme), the turntime is 25s, you collect that 5 crates in 20s......dont you think its frustrating to use a zooka in those circunstances, and then, in the next turn, you notice you had a banana in your weapon inventory?
I said, it could be useful for "shoopa based schemmes" not just for normal shoopa.....obviously, you can say "its skill , man, nothing more than skill to remember wht weapons you have in your inventory", but what about the crate finder? (for example).....and what about the ability so see your weapon list while enemies turn? (added in an official update as you may know).
I mean, you can say you dont like it.....but saying its a cheat is stupid and extremist.

But being able to open your weapon panel during other players turns is global and can't be disabled short of emulating an old version of the game or downgrading. With a Wormkit module one player can have it while the others don't (just like crate finder which I'm sure is frowned on for some scheme types)

That can be solved writting a message on chat like Undefined said in his last post....letting all the other players know that you can pin your weapon panel....I dont really think that someone would get angry beacuse a player can pin his weapon list, seriously
Same goes for crate finder......I used it many times when I used to play windowed low resolution and I have never been blamed or insulted beacuse I had an advantage.....

I doubt you'll ever find anyone pedantic enough to label you a cheater for using said features in friendly games. But in situations where you are competing against others in leagues/tournaments/competitions etc., there is no denying that you will ring alarm bells.
