How many will cost?

D_Wormkill

10 € - maximum 20 € (a preview done from the version of the game per x-box at its release and from the other worms' games). Only online purchase via Steam digital distribution.

Almost all Worms released on-line cost 10 €. I'm not sure what it was in dollars/pounds.

It makes me laugh how people reply to questions with their definitive answers when they have nothing to do with the actual game development. :) Fact is that the price for Worms Reloaded has not been fixed on yet, but while I don't expect us to put it up for full price (even tho it's worth it) I don't think it will be as low as 10 Euros. Bottom line is, wait until there is an official announcement :)

I made a prediction (I specified between parenthesis). But you have to admit that the latest game of worms you've released (Worms 2: Armageddon, correct me if I'm wrong), at its launch, could be bought at 800 Microsoft Points. 800 Msp are equal to 9,90 € (check on Amazon.com the prices for 1600 Microsoft points and divide by 2).

However...if the bottom line is equal to 20-25 €, it's ok. But have you to pay something to Steam to give you the opportunity to sell it through their channels?

The hell? You're a cool guy, I see no reason for you to get banned from the beta, that must be a mistake or something.

Also, $45m? What the hell is wrong with you Team17, I already sold my house for roughly 100,000 dollars just for that game, I would need, like 449 more houses, no freaking way.

Maybe because every worms game came out for PC, even new, with a price around 10 €? Or maybe because last Worms game released for console (last year, X-box 360) had a low price (800 Microsoft point at day 1, equal to 9,90 €!!!)

I'm not informed about prices of old Worms games because I first played Worms with the age of seven and both WA/WWP I got as a christmas present from my uncle. Worms 3D, Worms Forts and 4 Mayhem all costed 30 euros as far as I can remember, OW/OW2 for 40 and Space Oddity for 60 euros. But all downloadable Worms were sold for a prize of 5-10 euros so far.

Well, in Italy I bought Worms 3D at 6,90 € and Worms 4 Mayhem was sold at 9,90 €. Worms World Party had a price of 10 €, more or less (at that age, italian lire were in circulation).

Most of the PC retail Worms games had a RRP of $40. I think the original was only $20. I tried to find a receipt, sticker or magazine review with the price from way back but no luck. I found this old negative 1995 review of Worms (http://worldofstuart.excellentcontent.com/world/pcg/worms.htm). This part of the review is funny "Oh, and if they're expecting this to be a big hit on the Saturn and PlayStation, they're in for a nasty surprise".

Of course it's not 1990s anymore and this is a downloadable title, so I expect it will be cheap.

This part of the review is funny "Oh, and if they're expecting this to be a big hit on the Saturn and PlayStation, they're in for a nasty surprise".

Heh, either you like a game or don't, but as a tester you should stay objective. Seems the website was the one to be in for a nasty surprise :p

As far as I know original Worms was an award-winning hit, wasn't it?

Edit: Just read through it. What a useless test, pretty much 3/4 of all informations are just wrong. Like it's meant to be a 16-players game with one worm for each. lol.

And also, in the fantastically annoying way that has become Team 17's trademark, the 'Team 17' worm team is stupendously talented and will beat you almost every time if you play against the computer. And when a worm dies, it does a little comedy death sequence where it blows itself up with dynamite and injures any nearby worms in the explosion even though it was already dead, which is just silly, not funny, and a bit crap.

I guess the tester was either a stupid person or too lazy to test the game really, that he didn't see what a strategic matter that "issues" actually are. He even fails against the "oh-so-easy-AI" (as he called them by himself...)

something like £9.99 or £12.99 or £14.99 but no more. personally i think the £12.99 sounds reasonable & almost £5 more than the price of the current psn worms game.

He wasn't speaking about you, don't worry. Instead, he was telling a hard truth. If you check on Steam, you'll notice for sure a big group called 1 $ is not equal to 1 €. Steam sells the games at the same price, without doing the value change (example: 59 € = 59 $).
At last, as clear example, I tell you about the last DLC of Modern Warfare 2: in America it is sold at 14,99 $....here in Italy at 14,99 €!

BillT17

It's not Steam that sets the price, it's the developer. The developer decides what prices are in individual regions and can also change the price in one region if it's not selling well there etc.

Oh, alright then, didn't know that. Almost all games on Steam (if not all of them), have this "1$=1€" policy, it's been like that for quite a long time now. So yeah, it's a bit frustrating for us European players. :(

Just do a check around of titles of Worms sold by Team17...you'll notice none of them for PC cost more than 10€!!! Adding the fact that a price like that is very negative for their marketing because we were used to different prices from them.

PS: Also for X-box 360 or other consoles you can say the same thing, seen the prices circulating, around 40-60€! It depends on marketing and objectives to reach. I know Team17 is smart enough to put the game to a convenient (or interesting) price, encouraging multiple purchases (I promised that if the price is 15 € or below, 2 copies from me are bought for sure!)
PS2: A new game from Team17 is coming to 3rd June called Alien Breed Impact. Go to check its price and your standards will change very soon with them. =D

It's as much of a sequel as the recent Need For Speed games are: not sequels in storyline or naming convention but a sequel as far as advancing the franchise goes. (I know NFS and Worms aren't much alike but I couldn't think of another good example)
