View Full Version : Shopper rules: deep insight

A couple of questions about Shopper rules which arose after some WormNET experience.
1) Can hurting another player with a triggered pre-placed mine violate KTL or ABL?
2) Does CBA mean you have to pick up the very crate that spawned before your turn, or just any crate on the map?
(if not dependent on the host)

I don't know what you mean by "deep insight," but..
1) I'm pretty sure it doesn't, since it wasn't your worm's weapon that damaged the enemy worm. I don't think it would matter anyway, as long as you damaged the leader or someone other than the last within that turn.
2) CBA means pick up a crate before you attack. Based on all shopper games I've played, I would say that it means any crate. The rule isn't called YTCBA (Your Turn's Crate Before Attack), after all.

Pre-placed mines shouldn't affect KTL or ABL, CBA just means you have to pick any crate up so long as it is a weapon crate afaik.

As far as I am concerned, KTL and ABL only apply to weapons in your inventory.

Concurrence has occurred. Same as in Roper.

Oh, thanks. I was totally confused when one guy on the WormNET said that someone told him that you had to pick up the crate that fell just before your turn.
Thanks for help.

lol i always try to explody any xtra crates for damage, because its a waste to fill your inventory in a shopper.

the other noob may have been playing a game where the host had house rules and took them as standard rules.

I sometimes use the unlimited provided weapons, such as zook, too get a cool stash of weapons. More weapons means more possibilities to attack, so filling your inventory is definitely useful.

I host with infinite zook and just set it to 2 or 1 stars in case someone gets Select Worm...

I've never seen anyone Select Worm every single turn... So, I host with 1 free zook in case they get a Select Worm. Seems like infinite zook is an attempt to turn a shopper into a roper, or a w2w which was a scheme spawned from roper rules as we all know.

Some people are so noobish (and crazy) about the rules that they actually think you have to attack the team listed first when the game starts even though every team has the same amount of health at that time! Today we have so many noobs that have managed to remember to repeat "ktl cba afr" so as to not get booted, but unfortunately aren't smart enough to understand how the rules should be applied, which rules suit which schemes, or how to punish infractions (should a person be punished for an accident, if not then the rules are useless, and how can you punish a person with no regard for the rules and wouldn't skip anyways; do you "ktc" even though that's the exact behavior the rules were meant to eliminate?).
