Hi guys, Im amazed to find a few people still playing the old worms :)

I saw worms 2 on the shelf and thought what the hell il install it again after many years. It was a pain to install the game though, 1st I kept getting the visual basic runtime error then the no cd patch didnt want to work so I kept the disc in there but the disc has so many scratches im surprised it works anymore, its orignal but I think im going to have to try and copy it to preserve it :/ as Ive had it for so long.

Before playing it on the pc to death as a kid I used to play it on the Amiga, wonderful memories. maybe we can play this online, does it work through router? if not maybe hamachi is worth a try?

Buy Worms:Armageddon: it's cheap, and it's still being updated today! It is like Worms 2, but improved vastly.

Note: I am not talking about "Worms 2: Armageddon" for the Xbox 360.

You should definitely give Worms: Armageddon for PC a try. It's being updated, and already has had many features and bug fixes added to it. Here (http://wa.team17.com/main.html?page=supp&area=upda&file=15) is a link to the latest Beta Update. Also, if you look through the Worms: Armageddon forum you'll see that there are ways to customise Worms: Armageddon even more extensively than Worms2.

I find it sad that in W:A to customize weapons any where near as much as in Worms 2, you have to use 3rd party wormkit modules.

You can't ajust wind effect, explosion angle, explosion power, damage, # of clusters, cluster power etc. all independent from each other, natively in WA. The same ****ty weapon customization that W:A features, looks to continue with Worms: Reloaded.

Your face is ****ty. WA is a better game because players can reasonably expect what a weapon will do in an online game.

Or at least we could for long enough to come up with more or less standard scheme variations.

Standard scheme variations exist for Worms 2 like BnG, Roper, Rope Race etc., why is there people making Project X and stuff if W:A comes with enough customization by it self?

It's been what? 13 years since W:A has been out? I'm getting tired of the same schemes, I want something new, unique and I can't find that with W:A's limitations.

Yeah, W2 has those three schemes. And about 10 people playing them. Not each. The Jake scheme, already, never had a truly standard variation, from what I could tell. Kind of speaks in favour of my argument, I think. :p

As for your other question, I wish I knew why. Because they can comes to mind, but I concede that's perhaps a bitter point of view.

What does? The fact that Worms 2 has hopeless router support and modern O/S support?

Doesn't W2 work better on Vista/7 than WA does? I thought that was the case, since there's no trouble with the frontend.

The only point I'm trying to make here is that I don't believe a plethora of detailed weapon customisation options is something that's necessarily a good thing when releasing a new Worms game. Its effect on a game's longevity is, judging from past experience, at best neutral, possibly negative.

Have an advanced editor where schemes saved by it carry a special attribute and when a game is hosted with one, give it a special colour or some such to let people know that it may be vastly different to what can be achieved by the simple editors?

Why remove features for the sake of simplicity when you can just make it easy to determine how changed a hosted game can be?
