View Full Version : Windows 7 x86 Crashing on 3.6.28.0 and 3.6.29.0

I'm on Windows 7 x86, and I'm using WormKit with the color fix and nothing else.

If any of this matters, I'm operating with an Intel Pentium 4 Dual Core, 3GB of DDR2 RAM, and ample hard disk space, on Windows 7 Final with the latest updates. I'm sure you can tell most/all of that from my log.

On 3.6.28.0, it crashes on launch. The ERRORLOG.TXT for that is attached.

On 3.6.29.0, everything seems to work fine until I try to enter a match. Then it closes out with no error whatsoever, and there's no ERRORLOG.TXT or I'd provide it.

Any help anyone can offer would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try increasing your swap file from 0 megabytes?

Just a total guess but try closing RocketDock or Mumble. I doubt they would cause crashing but the overlays could cause display problems.

or use a *.bat File to run WA.
Here are many of this bat files.
It closes the Process of Explorer and Worms run fine without Wormkit, so you donīt neet the wkcolorfix etc...
This works fine at my Computer with Win7 and the latest WA Patch

Wow, so many experts here, perhaps I should retire from supporting W:A with all the knowledgeable people around

Is your CD in good condition?

There is a fine difference between making wild guesses based on personal experience and actually knowing what you're talking about :)

But wheres the Problem?
By many people woks the solution with the bat file?
He asked for an answer and i give him one
Maybe the Cd was in a bad condition, thats right....
but i believe that many people play with an iso file so the trouble is Win7,Vista ect.
Kudos of youīre English ;-)
My English is awful

His problem has nothing to do with wkColorFix or any batch files.

That's clearly a problem with W:A reading it wrong. While not quite a "swap file", my paging file is 1.5x my physical memory. I wouldn't get very far in anything if it weren't. Thanks for the input though, that could easily cause any problem if it were the case.

Excellent guess, I honestly forgot about Mumble's overlay. However, sadly, I get the exact same silent close-out with both the mumble and RocketDock processes close.

Sounds great, but, I don't see any links or code or anything. I'm afraid I can't use a batch file I can't see, no matter how allegedly amazing it is.

Not to mention, I prefer Wormkit and the wkcolorfix mod, as they suspend explorer.exe, which not only resumes easier, but, doesn't rearrange all of my taskbar buttons, and doesn't break ChameleonClock (I've tried with both explorer and ChameleonClock off though, in case anyone was wondering).

Anyhow, what would thus batch file contain? Something like:

TASKKILL /F /IM explorer.exe
D:\Program Files\Worms Armageddon\WA.exe
start explorer.exe

...or what?

Is your CD in good condition?
'Fraid so, it's new.

well then should we say nothing more?

I don't think that's what he or anyone is trying to say. I'm interested in as much help as I can get. if you think you have a batch file that can solve my problem, by all means, share it. I'm willing to try it (after reading it, of course :P).

His problem has nothing to do with wkColorFix or any batch files.
And just to be sure, I tried running WA.exe from task manager's run box with explorer closed. Same problem, unfortunately.

If anyone has any more good ideas, feel free to let me know. I'll be checking this thread. =]

Oooh someone knowledgable with computers o_O a rarity these days. Sorry for assuming your Swap file was 0 megabytes lol but some people do disable it when they have 6 or 8 gigs of RAM (I don't since x86 programs are still limited to 4 gigs).

Please install WormKit (http://worms.thecybershadow.net/wormkit/) and the following WormKit module: 30805
Run the game via WormKit.exe and reproduce the crash. You should get an error message mentioning ERRORLOG.TXT. Find this file and the file CRASH.DMP in your W:A folder, and post them here as attachments.

Not at all. As I said, it'd be a legitimate concern were that the case. I do thank you for trying.

With all due respect, if you read my first post, you'd see that I already had WormKit installed. I will add your attachment to it though and reproduce the crash. Out of curiosity, how would you go about reading a crash.dmp? It looked like binary to me last I saw one. I imagine with *.dmp, it's a dump of the current memory, apparently in binary form.

It should also be mentioned that I've installed XP to a VirtualBox, and may just resign to doing it that way, although I do wish it'd work on 7.

EDIT: That is a neat little addon. It indeed caused it to produce an ERRORLOG.TXT and a CRASH.DMP. I have attached them.

With all due respect, we do not support cracked copies of the game. Please buy the game.
