My housemate said she'd never heard of putting sliced banana on cereal. Now I'm wondering if it's just me, or if other people do it as well.

Where can I vote "Whenever I have banana available"?

Also, I put sliced banana on bread with chocolate spread (Nutella). Awesome!
Dutch cheese (e.g. young Gouda) on top of marmalade bread is great too.

Here in cereal boxes you often see fruits being added to the cereal in the front picture, particularly on the "healthy" type cereals.

I've put sliced bananas on cereal for as long as I can remember, too.

I've tried other fruits but have found nothing that goes as well as bananas do with cereal. :p
That said, I haven't eaten cereal for years now. :(

You know what other fruit I put on food? Pineapple  Especially Italian food (are you all getting the reference yet?)

Did it occasionally. I rarely eat cereal or fruit these days. Shockingly, I've grown to prefer vegetables. Sliced banana in sandwiches is nice though.

This just looks heavenly: http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/photo228160.htm

Never if it's with milk. It can be done with yogurt or the variety 'filmjölk', which is made like yogurt but is much milder. I haven't tried it with cornflakes, just with various "müsli" sorts. But I rarely eat bananas, mostly because I'm afraid that they might be rigged with explosives.

Why not milk? I've always had banana on cereal with milk and it's good.

Banana on corn flakes is the only way to eat corn flakes.

A friend of mine and I once watched every episode of Dragon Ball GT back to back. We were fuelled by banana and peanut butter sandwiches.

I also like cheese and peanut butter sarnies, Tabasco and peanut butter sarnies, and carrots in peanut butter in a party food dip style combo.

It makes perfect sense to me. I mean, there's no other way to move forward the series if you don't have a new, more powerful evil guy if the previous evil guy has already been killed. You are just way too close-minded, if you can't stand a few exaggerations here and there then you shouldn't really be watching anime. :p

variety is all I'm asking for, basically. something OTHER than the biggest nastiest bad thing with the most ridiculous amounts of power possible at the time, all in a very convenient succession. Captain Ginyu could make them swap bodies, for instance. that was interesting. why not more stuff like that with guys EQUALLY powerful as the last?

Goku vs Majin Vegeta.

Teen Gohan with a broken arm beating Perfect Cell.

Tien repeatedly tribeaming Cell into the floor.

All genius. Seriously, I watch DBZ for Gohan's story and by the time he's fighting Perfect Cell he's just awesome. The series peaked as a whole for me right when he chucks those senzu beans about and whoops ****. It's like: Yes!

I've always found fights to be the most boring part of almost any anime, mostly because they tend to be so extremely predictable.
If an anime show is centralized around fighting and becomes popular, it's only a matter of time before it falls into the "The DBZ Formula" trap. It seems to be the most effective way to make the show infinite in length with almost no effort while maintaining a large fanbase. It happened to Naruto and Bleach after a while. One Piece is in it to some extent.

Hero encounters a Bad-uy.
Badguy boasts about being much stronger than the previous Badguy.
A bunch of drawn out and overly dramatized fights pass, where the hero is close to being defeated at least once.
Hero finally beats Badguy, but almost no progress was actually made.

(Repeat indefinitely until show no longer pulls in money or the creators die)

What was Goku doing when I was in seventh grade? Fighting a newer tougher bad guy. What is Goku doing today, about seven years later? You guessed it, Fighting a newer and tougher bad guy! Exciting! I wonder what will happen in seven more years!

On the other side, I've rarely seen an anime in which a character out-thinks an enemy and it doesn't seem like something completely obvious and idiotic, so it ends up being the same. The show is very enjoyable if you don't stop around questioning every bit, just like almost every other anime out there.

Maybe the whole "every single bad guy is more powerful than the last most powerful guy in the universe" thing is a satire on the "turtles all the way down" theory of cosmology.

Cell saga

So after it ended, was it the ex-Cell saga?

The show is very enjoyable if you don't stop around questioning every bit, just like almost every other anime out there.even the others that ARE just fighting big nasty things after big nasty things usually have a plot behind them. the Gundam series, Evangelion, Gantz, Witch Hunter Robin, Fate Stay Night, and Yu Yu Hakusho are a few examples I can think of off-hand. perhaps all these shows would've devolved into the DBZ formula, as Xinos calls it, but they stopped before it got monotonous (with the possible exception of Hakusho, who's 3rd season I never got to watch). DBZ was great up until around the Buu area where the monotony got obvious. if they'd ended the series just before or just after Buu it would've been awesome.

The series does end just after Buu. Goku defeats him, he turns into Uub, etc.right. sorry. I forgot the buu fight drags on through like 20 different iterations of buu :p perhaps if that fight had been shorter I'd have gotten less sick of it. point still remains, though. show got tired through cell and buu just killed it for me. too much testosterone.

and my head still mixes Z and GT, the two being so similar.... that and I don't think I ever really got told the specific spot the series ends.

GT is quite dissimilar to Z. For starters the protagonists primarily followed are Trunks, Pan and Gil. 2 of these characters were never in Z (apart from maybe Pan in the very last episode of Z but I might be mis-remembering that).

You are also introduced to the concept of the evil dragon being released from the Dragon Balls, which leads to some pretty epic fights involving Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta and a golden Oozaru.

It's a pretty rubbish series, though, all in all. And I'll admit that the Buu sagas in Z drag on way too much.

Nevertheless, the Cell saga(s) rule(s).

DBZ ended when Gohan blew Cell up.

The Buu saga wasn't based on the manga (although it was hastily covered after the fact). It's also worth noting that all the ridiculous Fusion and Super-sayan level bull**** didn't really start untill Buu and GT either.

Then again, if you though the fight scenes in DBZ/GT were tiresome, dialogue drenched power-up sequences then I pray you never have the misfortune to watch Naruto. :p

You were probably too busy picking on the details to notice but there was actually plot behind each enemy, other than just being a random enemy that popped out of nowhere. The androids were developed by Dr. Maki Gero(?) in an attempt to get revenge on goku but proved hard to control, cell was also developed as a side project, only it was genetically engineered from the dna of all the strong fighters and it required to absorb both androids to reach full power. By the time he woke up the androids had been defeated, so it travelled back in time using Trunks' time machine where he proceeded to absorb them. Buu was a powerful creature created by some sort of sorcerer and had been sealed ages ago.

Also I'm fairly certain the buu saga was based on the manga, it was dragon ball gt that wasn't based on the manga, nor was it created by toriyama, which explains why it sucked so bad.

On the subject of naruto: the anime drags on horribly, yes. But there are some awesome fights worth watching there: Lee vs Gaara, Naruto vs Gaara, Naruto vs Sasuke and Lee vs Kimimaro.
