Does anyone want to prepurchase Left 4 Dead 2 with me for £20.25 instead of £26.99? I need three other people.

Advantages of prepurchasing include a discount on the price, you get the demo quicker and you get an exclusive item, the American Baseball Bat. Sounds fun.

This is not a thread for discussion of exclusive content and how lame people are because of it. Nor is this a thread to use to diss the unusually short release time for the sequel. All I want is fellow Left 4 Dead enthusiasts to agree to buy the game in its four-pack bundle with me, at a discounted price.

Well since I have to buy the four game set, Nathan, you could pay me back at some point in the future or owe me a favour or something.

That's right. I send three other people a copy of the game via Steam, they pay me. We all get the game at a discount. The Steam store has all the details (http://store.steampowered.com/app/550/).

Doubt that very much if it's over Steam.

It's merely the tip of the iceberg.

Exactly what I was thinking.

OD IS NOT GAY! I CAN TALK WITH PEOPLE OF A LEVEL-HEADED NATURE AND THIS MAKES ME HAPPY! I WILL CONTINUE TO BROWSE OD AND OCCASIONALLY CONTRIBUTE!

Regardless, TheAbdBoy/Alfred is a good friend of mine, and I wouldn't link you there if I didn't think he was trustworthy.

Righto, Paul. I'll take it in to account. Haven't had much interested yet unfortunately.

There's plenty of people on the SA forums going for the deal.

I'm interested in the deal but not as much in L4D2, and I can't help but think Valve will have a 50% Off Weekend or something eventually.

Me and two of my friends need a 4th person to join the 4-pack pre-purchase.
Who's interested?

Ah, so you DO wish to embark on a sexual relationship with me and my two friends then?
;)

I'm gonna talk with my friends about who's gonna do the order and will let you know where to transfer the money.

EDIT:
Meh.
The UK price is much cheaper than the price here in Austria, so it would be a worse deal. :(

Bugger ****. Oh well. Thanks, bonz.

UKians, looks like it's just you and me. Europeans, you are on your own, though there are more of you and you have more countries.

If anyone is going to buy L4D2, now would be a good time.

If the UK price is cheaper, isn't it smarter for worMatty to buy it, and then bonz & his two friends to send the money to worMatty?

No, sorry, I don't think Valve will let me send them a copy because of the price difference, and I can't check that before I buy it. I can't find any information about it. I could take the risk I suppose.

Hmm, so it seems I can buy the four pack, but I am only allowed to give a game copy to a friend as a gift. Selling game copies is against the rules. No word on international recipients.

Sharing an expense is not the same as selling something though, isn't it?

Given every single person on the internet is doing it and probably did the same for L4D1, I don't think they have a problem with it. Nobody's that generous to selflessly buy 3 games for friends (except in Christmas I guess). They just don't want you to go around circumventing Steam and selling off your extra copies on Ebay for 100 bucks or something.

I think the only time they've reportedly banned gifters was for getting around regional locks (eg. buying a game for someone in a region where it isn't available).

Yes, you can "gift" the game to any country.
Although, Valve have a habit of retroactively changing their rules.

I don't want you ending up with 4 copies of the game plus 4 halos.

Or regions where only a censored version is available.
