View Full Version : Aiming sensitivity

I'm finding the aiming a bit twiddly at times due to the sensitivity.

It is most obvious on using the shotgun. Apart from the re-centering problem on every adjustment in aim. I also find the sensitivity too high.

I'm not sure TBH if this is done on purpose or not. I can stand there with a shotgun trying to be as gentle as possible with the controls and yet the line of sight is still flying around too high or too low with even the slightest of touch.

It is the same with all the weapons but most obvious with the shotgun due to the line of sight being available.

I've not come across any sensitivity settings in-game and I don't want to change the settings outside of the game as other games are fine and It would mean constantly changing my sensitivity settings (I'm not even sure if this would fix the problem anyway).

So is this an intentional thing to make things harder when you aim, or is this listed as something which needs to have some attention in the patch? Just I'm unsure.

What's other peoples views on this too? Do you find weapons like the shotgun twiddly to aim? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

EDIT/UPDATE: I forgot to mention it is also most noticable on trying to get the bunker buster perfectly off-centre to knock a worm in the water too (end up fiddling about for ages, even when you know exactly what your trying to line up for).

I agree. Sometimes it is near impossible to get that precise spot you want to shoot. I have also noticed a few times where I seeming hit the worm in the upper half of the body/head and it seems to go right by.... Maybe I am too used to the first person shooters, head shots dont matter here?!

Or your screen isn't flat and your not compensating for the curve that well.

It seems that the analog stick produces the same effect as the D-Pad. There's no sensitivity measurement.

It's not really analog control. I hate it.

I like that it's faster overall because in Worms I would get in a bad spot where there's not enough time to take the aim from way high all the way down low.

there needs to be something like in Peggle, you can hold down a button to activate precision aiming which slows your aiming line down and lets you get pixel perfect aim...

same here with the bunker buster, it seems to drill right through worm's tails without even effecting them, it should either be player detonatable, or detonate on contact with any pixel of the worm.

Team17 is just really sloppy with detailed game logic these days. They want to just pump out cruddy art, call it a game, and make a living. They don't want to worry about figuring out how to program the analog control to work with analog precision. Nintendo did it with Mario 64 13 years ago, but Team17 can't handle that sort of technology still, after programming for consoles with analog sticks for so many years.
