Now that Worms exists for the iPhone, which I purchased immediately upon release, will there ever be a version for OS X? I played Worms for countless hours back in the early-mid 1990's and loved it. Worms was a very enjoyable game and very entertaining with the best multi-player fun around. I would love to enjoy that experience today on OS X. Thanks!

Apparently the new Worms for PC game, "Worms 2: Armageddon/Worms Decade" (can't remember the exact title) will also be coming to OSX. Release date hopefully later this year.

I'm not sure its all that easy to do a direct port from iPhone OS to OS X, probably easier to do a port from Windows to OS X.

I read that iPhone OS is just a cut-down OS X. Not sure if/how the GUI engine differs, though.

The control engine is obviously quite different and I imagine there are quite heafty GUI differences, given the lack of power of the iPhone.

I have been meaning to try Worms3D as well, is it any good? It looks like it was released 4-5 years ago.

Anyway, iPhone OS is essentially a slimmed down version of OS X. I was just wondering, if Team17 already has an iPhone development team in place, would it be too difficult to transition the team to develop a full OS X version as well?

Team17 have already stated that Worms 2: Armageddon, currently available on XBLA, will be coming later to PC and Mac.
