I just played with someone who played 1, won 1 in a crazy crates match, and I went first. I know I have a high trueskill, around 15-30, so I do not think that is the official determinant.

It might be just a calculation of wins/losses, regardless of trueskill. Meaning, in a match with player scores of 50/49 and 1/1, the player with 50 game played will go first, because his ratio is lower then the other player, which is 100%.

I think it's official. Win/Loss ratio determines who goes first. This is a new theory, so try it out next time you enter a ranked game, if it still does not match, then this theory is busted too.

Nothing should determine first. It should be random. Alas, this doesn't seem to be the case. I dunno how it works but 8 times out of 10 I always start first. Seems a bit broken to me.

yeah, i think it is win loss ratio, because im ranked somewhere between 30th and 40th overall in trueskill, and i play people with 3 games played, 3 wins, something like that, and i seem to go first. i seem to go first a lot, which would be odd if first turn was determined by trueskill, considering that all but 35 or so people that are playing are above me on the trueskill leaderboard.

I'm getting really frustrated with this actually.

I have a trueskill of around 25, so there are plenty of people better than me. My win/loss ratio is probably 50-75%.

What I cannot figure out is the fact that in the 50+ games that I've played online, I have gone first only once.

I'm not exaggerating at all. I have played about 50 games and for the last 40+ games I have never gone first. I've lost plenty of matches but dont know how I can turn off the setting: "Prefer to lose ."


**EDIT** I jsut verified that in two games in a row where I had lower win/loss ratio...I started second

I'm Trueskill Rank 26, have played at least 60 games against both higher and lower ranked people than me, and I have NEVER gone first. Not once. Ever.

Broken.

Before the match i just played i was ranked TrueSkill Lvl.28 Rank #390 in the leaderbord.
Then i played against a beginner, well i won the match and he (the host) left
the game while the battlestatistics were shown (best worm etc.)
BUT
after this match i was ranked down to Lvl.27 #612 ?!?!

Can anybody tell me why this happened? it was a victory afterall?
I`m not particulary angry about this but i just wanna understand the system and how it works ?!?
