Hello, everybody
Well.. I'm a great worms fan, I simply love this game, but I'm not here to talk about my psn worms impressions.. Who wants talk about problems?;)
I'm here because I made a short video showing a technique that i dont knew. I dont know if it is new or works on previous versions...
The technique involves two land mines and only one turn..
Would be just one more bug of the psn version?

thanks and see you on the battlefield

that's funny, i've never seen this before and i'll try tonight. do you need to use the jetpack twice as on your video? or does it work when you use only one jetpack?

It probably has most of the same glitches that the XBLA version has.

The glitch that lets you use blowtorch + any other weapon in a single turn still exists (it was in the XBLA version).

I converted the controls to PS3 but the glitch instructions were written by TotalEklypz.

S = Square
X = Cross
O = Circle

1. Open the menu and select blow torch
2. Open menu again and hold S and X
3. Press O while still holding S and X to close menu
4. When the menu closes you will automatically jump, release S and X while in mid air
5. While still in the air press O again to open the menu.
6. If done correctly since you were holding S and X you will use the blow torch as soon as you hit the ground, since you were in the air you could open the menu again.
7. The menu should be open and you should be blow torching.
***IMPORTANT*** WAIT until you are finished blow torching to select another weapon or the game will freeze.
8. Select another weapon but be quick you only have 5 seconds to deploy it

There ya go. The infamous trick. Hopefully if everyone knows it, there wont be a cheating advantage anymore.

It's taken from the XBLA version but it works the same on PSN.

Yeah, that's funny..
You don't need to use the jetpack twice, but it doesn't work when you have two or more jetpacks..

I can do the double mine sometimes but often it doesn't do anything and there is rarely time to jump away. I drop first mine from jetpack using square then I land while still on jetpack and tap cross twice (sometimes it drops a mine and one time it fired a bazooka).

I tested that on the PSN game and it does indeed work.

X = Cross

Damnit, it's called the X button, not the Cross button. X is pronounced "ecks" or "ex".

I hate that I care about that so much.

Heh, nice. Especially as its one of those bugs that acts as a novelty but can't be used in a competitive game for its suckiness.

Although it does bring to mind how well a similar double-mine weapon (two mines set down with different fuse times) would work in a proper game.

Speaking of which, I always thought the X button was horribly out of place. I mean you've got Circle, Square, Triangle: 3 basic shapes, and then... a letter?
Heck, I'd be inclined to start calling it Cross simply because it fits better!

Wow, I really do give out about everything, don't I? I'm like an old man!
Right, thats it: from this point forward, I shall try my best to avoid giving out as much as possible!

I GIVE UP! Avoiding giving out is just way too hard with posts like these around!

It's official name is Cross, I remember the instruction manual for Tomb Raider on the PS1 saying Cross.

Back then, maybe. Terminology, like many other Hardware Manufacturer Standards (HMS) are liable to change at the HM's whim. The official Sony Terminology List specifies quite explicitly that it should be "X" and not "Cross". I think they even spell it phonetically as "ecks" in said document.

If a game went into submission with references to a Cross Button, it would fail, costing the publisher lot of time and money to fix the problem and resubmit the game.

Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. I did this for a living for 4 years. ;)

Don't be dramatic, man! It is just for fun.. :rolleyes:
and to be used in some extreme cases, of course...
