Since this is what everyone wants to know:

From Site Mod Spadge, on April 6th:

Fixes for some of the reported things are on the way (we'll see to that after European release).
DLC/updates are being discussed currently.

Also from Spadge in another forum:

The game will be released in Europe on April 11, priced 9.99 euros/7.99 £

So basically expect bug fixes to come after the 11th. As for specifics on what bugs will be fixed, just keep reporting them so they know what to look for.

A list of what I've gathered from here, as well as my own :

Bugs -

Camera has problems following the action sometimes (I have yet to pinpoint why this happens)
Camera can track beyond the sides of a cavern map when zoomed in, and breaks the cave illusion. (as well as making it easy to just rope down from the upper level to the lower level on two-floored caves)
Only two players capable of speaking at any given time, all other players being muted until something happens that swaps who's able to speak
Rope oddities (weapons not flying out with the right trajectory, weapons not dropping properly when rope appears settled, rope being stuck sometimes when you shoot from landing position, etc)
One oddity that locks up the PS3 trying to search for Hosts. (I'm assuming it may have had something to do with a host having characters in his/her name that made the game freak out, but I've got no way of testing this)
Explosions don't affect rope. (funny watching a piece of terrain blow up from a mine and seeing part of your rope length still settled where it was, just now in thin-air)
(I have yet to reproduce this one) Game fails to respond to any button press when it fails to connect to a game, leaving you stuck with the "You have failed to connect to the Worms servers" message, forcing you to have to quit game from the XMB and reload it.
Online play fails to registers players you go up against under the "Players Met" list under Friends in the PS3 XMB.
Sheep fails to respond to self-destructing if you injure yourself after letting one loose.

[Added 2007-5-1] If a worm gets stuck in the ground via fall damage while on a slope or very small piece of terrain (near the edge), there's a possibility that when the worm pops himself out of the ground that he slides/falls off the piece of terrain.


And some additions I want, which I'd consider reasonably implementable and don't require any actual new game assets to be produced -

Desired Additions -

Option to keep names in view when zoomed out
Option to force team healthbars to be displayed
Means of knowing who's currently speaking
Team select
An option to just view the online game lobby as is, without having to keep manually selecting 'Any'. Would also make ranked matches a lot easier to find without having to do a search for every individual scheme to see who's hosting on what
Players are forced to wait on other players to either hit exit or continue before the next match starts after having chosen an option themseves (Add in a timer or something for the end-match scores or something which'll auto-boot afk'ers at end of round)
Make teleporting less prone to the Worm sliding on the landscape they're trying to teleport onto. (had a couple instances of where I teleported a couple inches above a slight slope of a terrain, and he landed, slid, and fell right into the water. And this is a slope you could walk fine on)
Being able to type text messages, so non-mic owners can communicate between turns
Option to mute players (more players use a webcam for a mic than I'd wish, and those damn things echo everything back)




Will add more as I see them.

1) Doing a Challenge (8 or 9) a computer Worm used the blowtorch to disappear out the top left of the stage. When it was that Worm's turn to play the game locked up with only the music playing. Not even the PS button works on the controller. Had to use the power button on the PS3 itself.

2) Once when trying to host a game online the game locked up "Waiting for other players", but only the PS button on the controller allowed me to do anything.

I'll be honest... this is the first PS3 game I have had that has crashed on me several times in a short playing session and the first ever that locked out the PS button on the controller.

I have had some issues with this game too. first of all, my PS3 freeze everytime I do a search and on of my friends has joined a lobby or is hosting a game ( i figure that every time the game

he is in is about to appear in the list). I can still play online if none of my friends is trying to start a game: I guess you can see why this can be an issue. also, when a crate of some kind

drops, the camera rarely focuses on it, and it sometimes dont even appear on the screen. I wanted to add these 2 issues I've had to the growing list of bugs we all have encountered . And

by the way, I would definetly pay a lil extra to get the features we had in Armageddon. Its a good game, but I have some more developped games on my cellphoneb that didnt cost me 12

USD.


EDIT: Another problem I've encountered is that when I set up a new game type and I set the mines fuse time to 0, it stay random in-game. and same as the number of rounds, is it 5 winning rounds to win the game or 5 rounds total? Either way, I still need to win 3 rounds to win the game. (this happens online, I havent yet tested it on single player or local but it might do the same)

The only major bug that I've been very irritated by is when my PSN completely locks up anytime I try to go online. I've done so around five or six times now, in attempts to both join and host games. I see other users are having that issue as well, which is a relief knowing I'm not the only one with a PS3 on the fritz. Fortunately, I've only experienced one fairly minor bug when "invisible crates" seem to drop during local games and single player challenges. It doesn't bother me too much, but just seeing that happen always reminds me that this version of "Worms" still has a good amount of fixing to be done. Don't get me wrong, I still very much enjoy the game, it just needs some tuning up. Fortunately, our pleas are not going unheard (hopefully) since site moderator Spadge has already commented on getting around to fixing the bugs.

Fortunately, I've only experienced one fairly minor bug when "invisible crates" seem to drop during local games and single player challenges.

in fact, these crates do drop but elsewhere than where it focuses

As already mentioned, crate drops seem to confuse the camera easily but it happens at other times too, seemingly pretty random.

I don't understand how this issue can creep in as I've played almost all of the previous Worms games and this has never been a problem before.

Also, can any optimizations be made to the graphics engine to make it run a bit smoother? I was expecting a title with these sorts of graphics to be smooth as silk but this is far from the case. Stuttering is far too common when considering the simplistic graphics and ridiculous grunt of the PS3.

I have a lot of network problems too. My PS3 crashed a lot of times today when I tried to go online. I think this network issue has to be fixed FIRST!

One seriously major thing which needs to be fixed is the automatic disconnection you get when you finish an online match. I was hosting a match between me and my mate and we were happily chatting away on our headsets. I clicked Exit on the end of match summary screen, expecting to go straight back to the lobby. But no, I get dumped back at the main menu, and my mate's voice is cut off and he's disconnected.

No other online game I've played behaves like that; check out Call of duty 4. In that game you always go back to your lobby with whoever else was in your party.

Also I haven't tried to yet but is it possible to play with a mate in the room at the same time as online? I.e., you have a team, your mate has a team (from one PS3), and you play two other teams on PSN. If not, I think you should add this. Can't be too inconceivable to want to take the game online while you have a mate visiting your house.

One thing that really bugs me is the explosions when you use a Concrete Donkey. Most of the times it hits the terrain it doesn't make a sound. :confused:

The camera issues really need to be addressed :eek:... and is it normal for computer controlled worms to set dynamite and not attempt to move away to a safe distance? I mean they'll literally stand right on the dropped dynamite (suicide) Seems to happen a lot.

While the rope, camera, explosion and game freeze issues have been addressed, there is another yet unmentioned:

Foul replays affecting the outcome of a match.

Example from today's offline gameplay:
I bat a worm onto a slippery ledge and manage to hit another worm with the first one, thus forcing both to slide into the water. Replay hits, but only one worm drowns, while the other is safe at the edge. I would have won the match if the actual result came through, but the replay saved my friend's worm, thus enabling him to finish me off and win the round.

I know this has been around since the beginning of Worms (stumbled upon this for the first time in Worms for DOS), but it's still just as annoying as it was back then.

I've seen this way too many times now... :(

TBH, I think the last, really solid game with no game-breaking bugs or cheats/exploits was WWP (and even that was crap because it was just W:A all over again). I mean, the games are still fun and all in theory, but in practice, you simply cannot enjoy them with all the bugs. I do think Team17 are losing their touch.

New issue for me:)

Just today (April 15) I froze twice while entering the search for hosts screen, and once while trying to refresh the host list. My search settings before freezing were Any/Any/my team/Any, and this only happened to me once before today, I think maybe 3 days ago. I was able to play a game between the freezes, but only one. I gave up after the third freeze. When frozen in this situation, nothing, including the PS button, works. Earlier today I was playing Street Fighter 4 online with no issues, so I don't see it as a local problem. I think that's about as detailed as I can get this.

Same for me !!! from France ...
We are 3 friends to play this games but only 2 can speak together ... really annoying

- Camera doesn t follow the cursor
- PS3 always freezes when search with more than 1 "any" in the filter list
- Impossible to have infinite banana and clusters bombs

Me and 2 friends have the same bugs so it really comes from the game !

Please Team17 ! Make a patch as soon as possible !

I always loved in the ps1 version the league table for offline play. It added to the sense of competition.

Is this available in the psn version? I have not been able to find it.

If not, can this be added pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaase?

I join these additions (and of course, the bugs), and I'll add:

More customizable worms, like in Worms3D were you can customize your teams graphically with a silly hat/glasses.
Larger maps. The first impression that I had from the game is that the maps were too small. It causes that the long-range weapons were useless. i.e. the bazooka is barely used.
Add AI teams to online multiplayer games.
More weapons!!


It's a really funny game, as ever it was, but it needs to refine more

Please Team17 fix the crashing!!

its really doing my head in!, Got all the way to nearly completing challenge 17 and was about to win in my next turn then..whole game freezes and it its Ps3 reset time..

I'm really surprised by this as its the first ps3 game which i've bought which suffers from this..... But then i'm also surprised that a Team17 doesnt allow in game Text chat at the very least

Also how about the ability to see what type of games are beign hosted as apart from the name of the host + how many slots are free, I can't seem to see if a online game is BnG, Beginner, Pro, Ranked or whatever...

DLC content please... A LOT more backgrounds and themes, just like in worms world party! This was a major bummer when I bought the game.

I also have the usual bugs and crashes but one thing is particulary frustrating. That one is when I want to quit the game I hit the PS button and when I select the Quit Game option the whole PS3 freezes and it does that only with this game. It doesn't always do that but too often to pull my nerves.

Most of the problems have been noted here but i think these have been missed, i didnt see them mentioned above

INVITE FRIEND option, invite a friend to your room and play together

2 VS 2 option, lets have some 2 on 2 action with friends

LEADERBOARDS, i cant see my position anywhere, a box at the bottom of the screen showing your rank and score, no matter which range your looking at would be good

also i dont understand whats going on with the challenge timers, i actually timed one with a stopwatch and the time i got was half the time the game registered

For Wipeout I can see a list of all the players I recently played a game but Worms doesn't seem to have that option. I guess it's not really a bug, I'm new to PS3 but on 360, all online games have that option (including Worms XBLA).

Graphic glitch - I've seen AI select skip turn while standing on a mine and after they get damaged, they are still holding their arms up.

easily noticed bugs and errors:
Uzi weapon: the sound of shots made are cut when the sound is suppose to be continuous it reapeats wit a delay in between the two sounds thus confusing the player

Camera: foccuses on random points (or even stucks at) when...
setting grids,
targeting airbombs,
teleporting,
camera is following/focusing a target (moving bazooka shells, homing
missiles,grenades etc.)
or during any activity

Mines:timer not responding to any fuse setting given by a player

Targeted weapons(bazooka grenades shotguns Uzi etc.)
crosshair is possition is beyond of the target line (or not correctly possition)


Suggestions: release patch(as an addon on the playstation store either free or not) including other missing addons(buffalo, boomerang, lightning cloud, parachute, turrets, magnets, hats mapmaker, puzzle challenges, gamemodes[fort, rope race]) or get some other game publisher if they're not reviewing your games correctly and not informing you any bugs glitches and suggestions
/or hire game beta testers for game testing and etc.


comment: lol how many years is team17 making games and this is the only game i felt with no heart taken. i wouldhave paid more like 3$ more if it had more of the missing addons listed above

and to think that this game to do wasn't too hard - because they only neede to remake a game which they already done and yet they failed releasing it full of bugs, and without full content - u can buy a Worms:World Party for a half price of this PSN version - and when u think about it, its kinda disappointing

My concerns for the glitches in this game can be generally summed up by one statement: Fix the ninja rope!

- First and foremost, the glitch that prevents the usage of any weapons while using the ninja rope boggles my mind. I can't tell you all how many times I've wanted to throw my controller at the screen after dealing with this crap. Seriously... how did you guys miss this in play testing? I noticed it in the first match I played after purchasing like a smack to the face. I'd also like to mention that this isn't entirely consistent, and about 5% of the time I can successfully drop a grenade. This leads me to believe that there's a way around it, so does anyone have any tips to use until this (hopefully) gets fixed?

- Subsequently, after attempting to drop a weapon from the ninja rope, failing due to the glitch, and dismounting the rope, I cannot 'charge' a weapon throw. Pressing and holding the 'X' button only drops a grenade at my feet. I have only seen this occur after the game fails to allow me to drop weapons from the rope. It's as though activating the rope/weapon glitch breaks the weapon firing command for the rest of the turn.

-Attempting to use the ninja rope whilst performing a backflip creates a glitch prompting the rope to visually flicker multiple times and spam it's sound effect instead of extending the full length and connecting as it should.

To me it seems that glitches like these that are affecting vital gameplay mechanics are ones that should be addressed before we look at the specifics of network play resolutions and chat rooms (which strangely, seems to encompass the majority of complaints posted here), but then I mostly play local multiplayer games so I'm not as affected by this as most.

I, like most other people posting in this forum, fell in love with W:A when it was released for Win9X back in the day, so when I saw that you guys were finally porting Worms to PS3 I was excited. I was pretty disappointed to see that some of the features were not present. Specifically, the option allowing players to custom place worms before a match rather than requiring the game to randomly place them. This can really ruin a match that would have otherwise been challenging by spawning up to five worms in a direct line next to eachother. One of my favorite ways to play W:A was to use grenades only and allow custom spawning, ensuring the need for proper aim, instead of just lobbing one next to the three enemies next to me and jumping away as fast as possible.

After I started noticing how glitchy the game was, I have to say I was simply let down. I can't rationalize why so many elements of the game would be stripped down to be released on a superior platform. There's really no good explanation for it, so what it looks like to all of us:
"Shoddy port of a classic game -> ??? -> PROFIT!"

Make this up to your long-time fans by fixing this game, Team17. Your 'effing up your mojo.

No, its not a port at all. Its a completely different game. Which is why it doesn't have those features of W:A.

Don't forget that W:A was a full PC release AND what was originally going to be an expansion (in other words, most of the work was already done), while Wpsn is a... PSN game.

Never noticed this glitch... I use weapons with the rope and it's fine... The only prob. with the rope is that it's not flexible enough, we can't do crazy aerials!

I have noticed that whenever I host a 4 player game, I always end up with 2 or 3 worms clumped together, and the other player's worms are spread out. This makes me an easy target, encouraging them to go for me, rather than just one stray worm.

I've just purchase this game yesterday. Ann I can't seem to be able to play a online game my connection is fine for other games I have no probleme is there a probleme with the server???

I can start a game but I always get waithing for other players and the it quits.

maybe because there isnt much people playing online. last time i checked there was nobody hosting so i tried hosting and waited like 15min just to get somebody quitting on me!

That's the thing are they really quitting or it's a bad server cuz I play with a friend I know we call each other and say ok let's start a game. We don't quit it just disconnect after a while most I could play was 1 round

on my ps2 i seem to have the screen shaking all the time makign the picture blurry and almost unplayable/ any answers?
