View Full Version : Do you happen to live in or near either Luton or London?

Because Michelle and I are going to be in England next week (we fly in to Heathrow on Tuesday) and our cat-free accommodation fell through at the last minute. We can't stay with either my Mum or my sister as they both have cats and Michelle is allergic.

We need to find somewhere to stay for the three weeks and I'm asking, rather desperately in fact, if anyone is willing to put us up for three weeks. Obviously there can't be any cats.

We're ideally looking to stay in or near London or Luton so we can do all the touristy stuff and also pop into Luton to visit family and friends. It's quite dire at the moment, in fact - if I don't find somewhere to stay very, very soon Michelle has told me she won't be going. The plane ticket is, of course, non-refundable.

Can anybody help us out? Please?

Have you tried B&Bs on the outskirts of London/Luton? They'll probably be cheaper than a hotel for 3 weeks but may still be a bit costly...

You could even stay in lots of different ones over your 3 weeks so you can do touristy stuff in different areas!

I was thinking of B&Bs as I drifted off to sleep this morning.

You could stay at my place for the 3 weeks.
There's no cat in our household, only a small child.
And it's in Graz, Austria, so you might have some costly expanses for the touristy stuff in and around London.

I know a guy who's going on a week cruise with his mother because it actually works out cheaper than sticking her in a hotel.

Then again he lives in Vauxhall and works for a travel company.

What possible answer would be useful to you here?

It's pretty unlikely to be Michelle Obama, so just assume it's someone Ben knows and you don't and either trust him that she's not a murderer or else close your doors.

He has numerous times before.
And IIRC, I also saw some photos from a burger joint in LA some time ago on Ben's blog.

I'll speak to my girlfriend and see if she's up for it. We have no cats but we might ask for some financial contributions towards food, etc.

Oh and we're not very near London. We're in Brighton, though, which isn't that far.

I knew that Ben had a girlfriend, and that he was associated with someone named Michelle, but was not aware they were the same person.

Yep. Ask her boyfriend.

I knew he had a girlfriend but didn't know her name. But I figured it was her when he was talking about going to England with her.

I'd offer you a place to stay, but I don't think I'd be of much use - we live in the same bloody city, and both of us on the wrong side of the pond.

Ben, did you find somewhere? I got totally sidetracked for the last week or so and ballsed up (as I'm fairly prone to doing).

I guess it's all too little too late now, though. :/
