View Full Version : Why Do My Mission Attempts Reset?

It seems that my mission attempts reset to 0 sometimes, usually after taking 5+ attempts to beat the newest one.

I've also noticed that missions I've completed with a gold medal, I can change the number of attempts by clicking on the number. What on earth does this mean?!

Maybe I'm just going insane, though - if you beat a mission on you first try, would it say you had one attempt or 0?

Could it be that you actually clicked on the button with the number?
See below!

Yes, this is a new feature from one of the betas.

IIRC, it's one.

i think the purpose of the adjustable attempt number is that some missions get easier if you suck at them

so if you want to go back and try the hard version, you can click it back down to zero

Ah, right.
You get extra crates for the silver and bronze difficulties respectively.

Makes sense, but why is it then I can only change the number if I got a gold medal, as in, I can try the easier difficulties? Or does difficulty revert to hardest after attempting an already-beaten mission? I know there's some fancy protocol like that where you'd get a better medal if you redo a mission and do better on the first new attempt or something...

After completing a mission, no matter the medal, it reverts to the hardest level so you can try to get gold.

...would this explain the attempts resetting to 0?

Do the mission attempts reset even when you haven't beaten a mission? I've never seen that happening before.

They don't reset until I beat them.

Then this:

After completing a mission, no matter the medal, it reverts to the hardest level so you can try to get gold.

Does indeed explain this:

0 attempts means the mission starts again at the highest difficulty level (gold medal).

The thing I never liked was after you beat the mission (regardless of attempts) and then try the mission again and failed (so you loose your chance at going for the gold again) then you have to complete it again just so the counter resets and then get another shot at the gold.

Basically I would prefere that the newly added "choose you attempt number" was added to ALL completed missions, not just the ones you got gold on.
