So I have the original game disc. It was bought long long ago. Everything works properly. After installing, a readme file said it's a version 2.2 (don't know if it's possible). Anyway.. I downloaded the update from the official site and everything is fine, I can play on-line etc.
I tried to create my own team and save it somehow.. after few times it saved, but when I left the game and came back the team was gone.
I found a hint to download an European patch or something like that.
I did and after installing it there is an error when I want to turn on the game, saying: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application."

Can I get here any help?

Do not install "patches" manually, the Beta update installer will automatically install any patches it requires. The error message appeared because you downgraded your game to an older version.

The game can't save the team file because the game can't write to the folder where you installed it to. Run the game as administrator, or make sure the game can save files to its folder.

I do run game as an administrator. How can I make sure that files are saved into that specific folder?
I also could not save any schemes or edited maps, is it caused by the same problem?

Yes, that's the same problem.
Making the game's directory writable usually involves editing NTFS file permissions.
Where did you install the game? If you installed it under Program files, it may be affected by Vista's filesystem virtualization. Try installing the game to its default location.

Well, but the default destination of the installation is a "Program Files (86x)" folder.
Also, I run the game from a CD, isn't it like all the settings are loaded from the CD and that's why my team, etc. don't save up?

install to somewhere else, like c:\team17\Worms Armageddon\

Are you sure your CD is genuine (not a pirate copy)?

Not recommended instructions...

1) Open Windows Explorer and open Program Files.

2) right click program files -> properties -> Security (tab) -> Advanced -> Owner (Tab) -> Edit -> choose your user -> tick "replace owner on subcontainers and objects" -> apply -> ok.

after reducing security around your Program Files folder, you should be able to run the game (and any other old games) fine from Program Files :P

Yes, I am 100% sure. I remember using the same CD few years ago on Windows 2000, and everything worked fine.
For now, I reinstalled the game to C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon and everything seems to be fine.. for now ;)
