Yup, I'm trying to find gems in the VC that I haven't played before to spend a couple of wii points on while I wait for Cavestory to hit WiiWare. So I thought it would be a good idea to survey you people and see if I find something that catches my fancy within your top ten picks.

As for me:

-Super Mario RPG (SNES)
-Super Mario World (SNES)
-Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
-Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
-Super Mario 64 (N64)
-Donkey Kong Country 2 (SNES)
-Super Mario World (SNES)
-Harvest Moon (SNES)
-World of Goo (WiiWare)
-Super Mario Bros 3 (NES)

This are games that can be found there that I have played(some of then I currently own on the VC) that I like the most. I refrained from numbering them because I would have a hard time trying to choose which one is better than which.

Feel free to list more than 10 if you wish.
Or less.

I'm rather partial to Columns (Mega Drive/Genesis), myself.

I've considered getting a sonic game given I have never played a sonic game. Except for that flash remake but I only did like the first level before moving on to something else... or something.

Wait wait wait, are Mega Drive games on this "Virtual Console" thingy? Because I would have billions of suggestions then. :p

There are 62 Sega Genesis games available at the moment.

Well, I can comment on the Sega ones. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is my favourite, but partly because it's the one I know it so well. You might find it nicer to start with Sonic the Hedgehog first, and then try 2 & 3.

I didn't mention Sonic because I don't have it on Virtual Console (given I've got Mega Collection for the PC and so on...).

Well, I could just list the VC/WiiWare games I have, which as I have less than 10 probably makes it an automatic "best <10 games" thing:

ToeJam and Earl
Super Mario 64
Columns
Mega Man
Mega Man 2
SimCity SNES version
Dr. Mario WiiWare version

I've only got one vc title on my wii:

Mario Kart 64. Still the greatest battle mode.

It's not like you're restricted to the games you have on the VC, you're only restricted to the games actually available there, so if you have any old favorites in there that you haven't bought feel free to mention. :p

Platforming games:

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Sonic 3D Blast (Isometric platforming)
Earthworm Jim
Vectorman
Gunstar Heroes (Greatly enhanced by having a second player)
Ristar

The rest:

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Like Columns, but better for creating "chains")
Ecco the Dolphin
Ecco: The Tides of Time

Why no, I am NOT obsessed with the Mega Drive. Why do you ask? I could have listed some more, but best to keep it brief I figured. And they do not have some of the best ones. :(

Oh yeah, Puyo Puyo. Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine is pretty much exactly the same game (I think it is a port) but in English and with different characters.

LostWinds is awesome - short but sweet and well worth a mention. IT's the only WiiWare game I've bought, although I was tempted by that fishing game (I'm too poor).

Paper Mario is good, too. Not all that difficult but still enjoyable.

Not to mention Kirby's avalanche.

Oh aye, that was the other one. Knew there was something.
