Hi, I have been playing worms online for about 2 years. I used to play on my parents old pc and never had any problems. However last year when I got a new pc worms armageddon starting having problems. When I am playing online sometimes The game will completely freeze. I cannot see control alt delete when I press it. I can only see the cursor and have to guess if I am clicking on the delete program button. I have been suspecting that perhaps this might be caused by my pc overheating. Because usually when I first turn on my pc the game will not freeze, but after its been on awhile the game will start freezing everytime I play online.

I made a post awhile ago with more info in it. My PC Specs are in it. I have service pack 3 now though, but that wouldn't affect anything since I have had this problem before it.

Please someone help me. I love this game but have to stop playing it because of this problem. Does this sound like my computer is getting to hot? I have tried every other possible remedy I can think of to fix this. In the old post some1 thought it was zonealarms free firewall causing the problem but I know that isnt true because on my parents pc i played online b4 with that firewall on and had now problems at all.Reinstalling, have the beta, updated drivers on my pc, and none of it has worked.

Go to your folder where you installed W:A (by default this is C:\Team17\Worms Armageddon, or C:\MicroProse\Worms Armageddon). Inside that, double-click the "Tweaks" folder. Then, double click the one you desire (in this case, TimerWorkaround_On.reg)

ok i turned it on. I will test out my game. Do I have to click this on every time b4 i play? Or is it just a one time thing?

ok thanks, I think this may actually have fixed my problem. I played for like 5 hours. Usually starts freezing a few hours in. :) Thank you! This problem has kept me from playing worms actively for the last year and in a half.

I just got Worms Armageddon. And after some matches against the Computer... I wanted to check the Multiplayer, but when it connects to Worm Net.. The screen freezes and Worms got closed. I have'nt found a solution yet. Not even on Worms2D.info..:rolleyes: Anyone knows what's the problem? Or got the solution?

I'm actually very disappointed.:-/

Ye, and it fixed the problem. But then another issue came up. I just coud'nt play a game anymore.. When the game was about to begin, Worms got closed and nothing happend. It was'nt even possible to play Single Player anymore. :mad: WTF is it so difficult to play this game online?:confused:

Well, I just downloaded the game, becouse I don't wanna wait 2 weeks for it.;) So that's the problem, I guess.

But is there a sulotion for this problem? I just only can buy the game at Team 17 shop. But I don't want to wait 2 or more weeks for it. So i'm gonna pirate it.

Besides 95% of the players on Worm Net have an illegal version. ;) And the people who downloaded this game... Also made this game active.:)

By illegally downloading W:A and other software you always risk encountering various bugs and glitches (due to cracks), as well as computer viruses and other malware. Even if we wanted to, we just can't support all the buggy pirate versions out there. If you don't want to wait for the CD, I can only suggest checking your local video game stores, they may still have W:A CDs in stock.

It allowed me to get into the menu and also the Worm Net, but it was impossible to play a game online, against the CPU or against ma mates. We do not provide any kind of help for pirate versions of Team17's games on this forum, as clearly stated in the rules, no matter what the circumstances. That is mainly because if we post instructions on the forum, someone who obtained the pirated version of the game with no intent of paying for it would be able to follow the same instructions.


Therefore, all we can suggest is that you wait for the legitimate copy to arrive and play online with that :)
