Hey guys,

Anyone know where (if it exists) I could find a gradient reference list? In other words, I need to be able to find out what gradient colors correspond to which theme (or texture) in a worms map. I am kinda looking for a certain background color and I think this would help me find it without having to assign each and every texture to a map to see if it is the color I want.

Does this list exist? Or am I volunteering myself to create it?

Thanks,

You mean you want to check which background in WA works good for your map?

If so, I've extracted the gradients for you from the (CD) WA\Data\Custom\ folder. You can download the file here:

Have fun!

If it doesn't, create an article at the Worms Wiki.

Thanks guys!

Looks like they are almost all a variation of bluish, orangish, darkish, dark. So, I was hoping for a day time scene, but probably won't be getting it here.

Along the same lines, can the color of the water still be changed and saved to the level file (PNG)?

The colour of the water never could, only the height could be saved like that. you had to replace the water.dir file on your W:A CD (Or use the Wkfileoverride.dll module for wormkit) whenever you wanted to change colours of the water.

Yeah that would probably be a pain to include water color changes in a map release huh?

Maybe add a feature request for it with the new scheme format? The link is somewhere in this forum.

The problem is that many W:A CDs (the US and Sold-out Software ones) only have the blue colour on them. It would have to be included within the beta update.

Which is already planned, IIRC.
I've also been bothering DC and CS to include the unused blue2 water color from the WWP CD, which has a nice wavy pattern.

Well that is good to know. Water color selection within a theme would be the most useful to me, since I can assign it based on each custom level. I don't mind the blue standard for most levels. But I am currently starting up The Pit of Carkoon and it would be nice to have a sandy-colored water to kind of emulate a desert scene as opposed to an underground ocean... hehee.
