I don't quite remember of all your old works, but I know that they were not so good, so I can presume that yes, you've improved.

Good work with the eyes. The hands are nice too and the head has a good style. Alot of other artists use square heads like, but this is somewhat diferent.
After all that, there's the boring background.. it's kind of lame and takes a little of the charming of the picture

Please, if you know your picture is horrible, don't post it. It won't get you anywhere, really. Try to do the best you can do.

Your art shows some potential (and its rather good for your age) but that picture was really bad. And it seemed to be drawn in a different style too, which I don't really like.

Out of the styles you have created, I like the style in the other picture the best, and in my opinion you should definitely stick with that from now on.

I like the first picture.

The second one looks like you tried to do it in the same amount of time but, because it's more detailed, failed at rather because you were rushing it.

I'd say the biggest problem on your art, poninja, is that many lines are messy. (or squiggly)

In the second picture, the worm that is on the knife is really horrible. It looks like you put the least of your effort on it. Try to make better art for so much detail.

And as Pyramid said, those tails are very sharp.

But at least you draw nice blood. :) (oh, and that cloud looks really good for a cartoony picture, and let's not forget the nice creases in the first picture)

You mean, the fact he's holding the plectrum like it's a cigarette or the fact he's reaching awkwardly (and backwards) over the top of the guitar rather than round the base like you'd expect?

If you're not sure where to draw hands then either do the thing yourself and see where your hands go (they know how to do stuff better than they know how to draw stuff) or else bash it into Google Image Search and see what people do. (Obviously the people on there will have arms, but any pose that would be awkward for a human will look awkward on the worm.)

Close to that here, they switched from Grade-A Alberta beef(around here anyway), to imported Mexican beef. Apparently its cheaper to ship all the way from the other end of the continent, than to get it locally. That says something about the quality difference. Thankfully I haven't eaten at McDonald's in a long time. A&W all the way.

Its not bad (the whole picture itself, not the worm) the lines are a little messed up, that's all, and the body shape isn't good.

But the background IS pretty nice.

With thinner and clearer lines for the worm this would be very good. The worm's shape is nice and I also love the background ;)

how about now?now you've posted precisely the same image with an obnoxiously obvious glare coming from the opposite direction of all the rest of the lighting.

here's a hint: skin tone doesn't magically turn red for no reason half way across someone's body. there has to be a reason. like absurd amounts of heat. or genital disease. your image is exactly why every digital artist who's ever gotten hold of a copy of photoshop suggests that no one ever use the gradient tool.

here's another hint: covering the outer sections of a bad part of your picture doesn't make the picture less bad. it makes the fact that you're too lazy to actually solve the problem just that much more obvious. the problem isn't that the health bar looks bad because it's flat. it looks bad because gradients look terrible 90% of the time. don't use them. ever. seriously.

Look, just don't use simple gradients. Ever. Unless you know specifically what you're doing, in the best case it'll look like a poor man's shading, and in the worst case it just looks completely rubbish. The only place they're applicable at all are in generic background and Powerpoint presentations.

Also the lighting is completely dildos :cool:Agreed. You're shading like you just know "oh one side is light and another is dark". That's not how it works.

You've got a flat image. You wanna give it some shading to make it look more dimensional and realistic. So you imagine you place a light source (eg. the sun, an explosion, etc.) on some point (you don't need to actually draw it, just imagine it). Now all the sides that the sun touches directly become lighter. All the sides that it doesn't (usually on the opposite side of the light) become darker. This can also create shadows and what not. Example:

#1 - Flat image.
#2 - Shaded image with light source on the left.
#3 - Shaded image with light source on the right.

On your picture the light and dark sides are just mixed all over the place which makes no visual sense. :p You also gotta make sure the shades are soft and not very different from the original color (unlike my example which is just horrible MSPaint default colors :p).
