Hi all,

As maybe some people already noticed, Clanbase (www.clanbase.com) presents a new game in their gaminglist: Worms Armageddon.
Soon ladders will be there, and I'll probably make the first cup.

Now I'm looking for ideas, so if anyone has some good ideas, please share it, so we can make perfect rules for this game to make it bigger and more competitive.

The first cup I'm gonna create, will just be a normal weapon cup. I tried to get rid of the luck-factors, which means: no weaponcrates can drop, you can place your own worms before the game starts, etc.

Now there are a lot of options in this game. For the normal weapons you can play the game in 1v1 player (5v5 worms for example), or 2v2 (all players will have 4 worms) or 3v3 (all players will have 3 worms).

But ofcourse much more would be possible, so please share the ideas with each other, and I'll read it and try to make things happen on Clanbase, since I'm the Gamesupervisor there for Worms Armageddon.

This page shows you the current ladder petitions,

http://clanbase.ggl.com/ladderpetition.php?gid=86

Cups will follow soon, therefor I'll need the ideas, good luck all!

I've opened a petition to put worms on clanbase almost a year ago.

But clanbase then said "Not enough interest in this old game, altho its a shame as it really is a nice game"

I've no idea why it took them so long to reconsider. But at least it's there now. :)

Edit: fixed

Well, there's the regular one, which is using the standard Pro scheme. Probably a good idea to do those two things that you suggested there.
There's a high demand for a shopper leaderboard too.
And the third one is BnG. A match using just basic projectile weapons.

That's the three I reccomend.

Here we go, the original petition from early this year:

At that time I wasn't gamesupervisor, so I can't tell what that guy did. But ye.. 19 votes that time, this time we already made it till like 50 votes. And times are gonna change now I'm in charge of this.

Keep ideas coming,

ps. Plasma, I like those 3, been thinking about it. I also know there is another game: ropeknocking only, seemed to be popular. But I don't know if that's good for Clanbase

If you're really considering to add ropeknocking-only scheme as a ladder scheme then I suggest you stop. Scrap the idea and move on.

These big corporation cases ladder or ESL style leagues have never worked and will not work now.
It's better just to wait for the next community made promising game league/portal to open, hopefully with staff that knows the game and not just some casual fan that likes ropeknocking and listens to Plasma's suggestions.

No offense.

W:A (may apply to W2 and WWP), due to its online gaming characteristics, is certainly one of a kind when it comes to communities. These communities need people from the inside who know very well how WormNET works, and what do players expect and are willing to do.
So I say, let these people do their kind of thing. You can try and make an effort to do something nice, but if you don't know where you're stepping into, you won't get far. Examples of this are lots. (Maybe the most recent one is ESL)

Btw nice avatars guys!

Nobody said you have to participate if you don't want to. There's over 60 dozen people who allready voted for a normal ladder.

Otherwise go and make a site of your own, with advanced scripting capabilities, with people who are willing to work for the community. Untill you do that, we'll settle for what's available.

It's easy to whine, go out there and make a difference if you're against this.

This isn't actually the only such project soon to be launched, though. (http://www.tus-wa.com/)

And that's not even counting those the wider community hasn't been informed about yet.

ok I see :D
some comments were just a bit useless, but I understand the point where you guys getting to. Indeed people can vote for what they want to see in Clanbase, though you'll need more votes than just a few to push it through.

I'm willing to hear everybody's opinion about this game, so keep ideas coming instead of whining on each other ;) Anyway, ropeknocking.. I'm not a fan of this, but I heard it a lot, so that's why I asked.. though no worries.

First I'll try to get the NORMAL game of Worms Armageddon in the ladder and cup-list. Which means, normal weapons, normal maps and normal rules.
Because I've played worms many years, but I only played that gametype, since I liked it.

Keep ideas coming guys

ps. Soon I'll start a hosted cup as said, so maybe start making teams on Clanbase, would be a good idea :D

The Worms 2 Ladders work rather well IMHO, whats wrong with having one for W:A?
