Because highly organised ranting is apparently what we do now in OD. And I think this fills an important niche.

This is for statements that you consider... not stupid, but odd. Maybe it's a slip in communication, or a rather odd worldview, or just something straight from midwicket (because I don't want to say "straight out of left field" when I can adapt the saying with cricket terminology). It may even be quite profound in its way, but it just throws you. It might be Eggi or Gingerneck or CJH, or it could just be some average sort of dude like, well, Metal Alex, who gave us this gem (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showpost.php?p=672711&postcount=353):

Once, I felt down, and I drew a crab. Made me feel better. It turns out the only thing I can manage to draw properly is realistic crabs.

No guarantees it'll work on anyone else, though.

Drawing crabs: a potential path to inner peace? Or just something that works for one person? Who knows.

Crabology is an evil, mind-controlling, fanatically religious sect!
They're only after your money. And your pincers.

uh......can I get a translation please?!

Yeah, but all the same: if you're going to try and beat him, take him on his own turf. After all, you'll never defeat him if you don't try and defeat him on that landscape type!

you're never going to beat someone if you don't face them on their home turf where they're best? what?!

you're never going to beat someone if you don't face them on their home turf where they're best? what?!Maybe he means that you'll never truly beat them.

e.g. "You'll never truly beat India (at cricket) unless you beat them in India"

Must this thread be limited to what's said on the forum? Because most strange things I hear people say is in real life.

Must this thread be limited to what's said on the forum? Because most strange things I hear people say is in real life.well I think it's meant for just this forum, but I wouldn't complain to hear extra funnies. if nothing else you could put them in the 100% OT thread.

Create a new thread? Could always do with another observation list thread.
