Greetings, fellow board members!
I'd like to present you a few doodles of Worms Characters I drew a few days ago.

http://npshare.de/files/37/6761/Worms%20Doodlings.png

I wanted to ask you which of these doodles you like most and which style you would like to see in a foreseen webcomic series (If I'll ever get started with that!) or in more fanarts. Also, I rather draw with digital media, like MS Paint. These examples were just made to get the feeling of how to draw specific expression. I suck with hands. Anyway, feel free to critique~

Your opinions will help me a lot. Many thanks in advance. =D

eh, not bad at all.....though you do definitely suck wiht hands :p but then who doesn't at the start?

only thing I'm looking at that could warrant a change is that when a worm is facing off in front of itsself the eye closer to the view should be near the center of the face and the eye further away should be closer to the edge and thinner.

I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I don't think the hand are that bad personally. Aside from the one with the caption "I can't draw hands". :p

Anywho those are some pretty good doodles you've got yourself going there dude. Look forward to seeing some more.

Greetings, fellow borad members!

I bet you just did this because I bothered you over DA. :p
EDIT Oh wait, wrong person. :p

Nice work. Some of them are a little lopsided.
A good way to learn to draw hands is to make a little skeleton out of lines and circles.

Those are quite decent. But.. the hands, yeah. :p

Ah, yes. You're right. The distance between the eyes are a bit too far away. And the eyes are quite fat sometimes. =/

Hehe, I see that Impossible Quiz there.
You spotted it! +1 Skip

Hands can be the hell to draw. I also tried that thing with the circles shadowman mentioned earlier, but I'm still too dumb for that. Sorry. xD

Some of them are a little lopsided..
Well, that's what doodles participate of, I think, and as mentioned, I usually draw with digital media. Unfortunately there's no UNDO-Button in real life. xD
Hm, okay. I'll try to draw more linear then. =D

I thank you for your nice comments. I hope I get my ass moved tomorrow and draw and submit a few more drawings, this time a few digital ones. (UNDO-BUTTON!) Again, many thanks. X)

Hello there. The Kiljaden of Worms Universe? (I assume so, since it's not a common name in my experience.) Nice to hear from you.

I think the image with the Impossible Quiz is the best one. The worms look much more... well, not lifelike exactly but whatever the equivalent is for talking worms. I realise that panel is the only one with no hands on, but that's not what I prefer it.

I think that might be KilJaeden (http://forum.team17.co.uk/member.php?u=31078).

Either way, welcome to the forum Kiljaden. Hope you have fun :).

The art's not brilliant, but it's a reasonable start and there's something about it that I quite like. Not that you should be taking my word for it when it comes to worm drawing :p

Oh, no no no! I'm another Kiljaden. Never been on Worms Universe. =o

On that panel, I took a few excercises of tutorials. (That stretching tounge is from Splapp's old Worm tut.) And now that you mention that "no hands"-thing... *re-edits with crappy hands*

Either way, welcome to the forum Kiljaden. Hope you have fun :).

Oh no, it's just practicing. Well, I drew Worms a few years ago, but then stopped for a long time. I have rusted. =(

By the way, here are some examples with MS Paint.
The picture's size is a bit lower now, because I draw really small in Paint. =/

http://npshare.de/files/37/1756/Worms%20Doodlings%20Digital.png

I hope I got the hands slightly better this time. xD
I still appreciate your comments. Feel free to continue. =)

Still quite good. I think the problem with the hand is that you're making the thumb a bit too fat and long. That's the only problem I can see.

You should add more curves on the hands so that it would'nt look too blocky.

You do need to practice more with the hands though, but it's a promising start.

Ah, I know, but that's the biggest problem. Whenever I try to draw them curvy, they turn out agglutinated, looks really weird.
I tried to crop the digital doodle with a few curves at the fingeredges. [Here] (http://npshare.de/files/37/8975/Worms%20Doodlings%20Digital%20Differences.png) Only low differences between the one I posted above, but you'll recognize them.

Geez, thanks. =D I'll try harder in drawing. Maybe there'll be a Character Profile some time.

I found it THAR (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showpost.php?p=298185&postcount=4). I'm really sorry, I didn't know that one was old and thought it'll still keep. And I forgot the Gi just out of dumbness... Oh well~ D=
Addition: Edited farnart, Aku has now his Gi back. YAY!

Like, draw from different angles, not just straight ahead. Move the camera and ad some bakground, perspective..

You're the one who brought up your holiday internet arrangements. A pretty trivial, irrelevant piece of info, don't you think? I take it you can pull yourself away from your PSP long enough to, y'know, be on holiday.

I can be ars'd with perspectives. That's a thing I have the most problems right now, but I'm already searching for decent solutions. Anyway, thanks for your advise, Mister.

And please, no off-topic, Sirs. I'd like to have this thread clean from any troubles. It'd be shame having this thread closed due to such circumstances. Do me a favour and keep that in mind. Thank you.

However, I'm currently working on my own Sigworm. Not sure about any details, but you'll expect him soon. I also thank everyone for your support. It keeps me on the computer. ;D

I'm addicted to dark colors. I used them on my year-old drawings, too, just to hide the contrast a little, which makes the pictures looking old and spooky. I like that.
About Aku's tail, I had that in mind, too. But that's a problem of the size, because I thought, that when I raise the length of Akus body, it would look too stretched. But okay, thanks for the advice, Ted. =D

Not yet, not yet. But we'll see...

That comic strip takes me longer that I planned working on it. Haven't finished the outlines yet. Flat coloring is no problem then, but the shadows and other details and so on will keep me on it. It'll still take some time. And I haven't started to draw my Sigworm yet. D=

I could be arsed with the coloring now, so I dropped it. I'll submit the final version on deviantART then. =O

Enjoy~

It's nice. I like the way you went for the "minimal speech" option there.

It could be a little bit clearer, though. I'd be tempted to add a panel at the beginning focused on the "target worm" with the "attacking worm" visible in the background by that platform - same angle as the final panel, but without the fire, obviously. It would set the scene a little more, before going onto shots focusing on the "attacking worm".
