An old dream of mine finally came true :D We got about 20 - 25 metres range, and probably could have got more if we'd had the time to tweak it even more.

The construction was one massive bodge job, but it fired about 30 shots with no problems other than the knots on the sling un-tieing.

Oh, and it was called Chuck.

You definitely need to increase the weight drastically!
The swing arm plus the payload seem to be only a bit lighter than the weight.

Only 2 days, we made most of the frame one day, and the arm and fiddly bits the next.

The axle was bending and creaking quite a bit, so we decided not to try that. Also, the counterweight gets stuck on the bottom of the frame, so that probably didn't help much.

Hmm, you'd need a more sturdy axle then.
Or use a denser material for the weight: uranium or iridium, whichever you can get more easily. :D
