I heard that you can learn to play the drums with rockband. Going from noob to pro in the game should help you play real drums. Though that can't be said for guitar etc..

The drum set you have in Rockband is ridiculous!
4 pads and 1 kick drum pedal.
Where's the hi-hat? Where's the crash and ride cymbals?

Controlling four individual instruments with your 4 extremities simultaneously is the essence of drumming on a real kit.

That Rockband thing is a better 1980's New Wave music video prop. :rolleyes:

But yeah, I've been eager to play GTAIV... but I also would really like to get RockBand.
Mainly to be able to play with my brother, which is something I can't do on GTAIV. If only GTAIV had split-screen single console multiplayer/coop... D:

I would, however, prefer the PS3 version to the Wii version, since it's better, and also because my wii has some minimal graphical glitches that make me fear it will stop working all of a sudden D:

The whole "Why play the game when you can learn to play the real instrument?" argument falls flat for so many obvious reasons. Shame on you, Bonz.

Anyway, Rock Band on the Wii is gimped - no custom character creation, no downloadable content. My advice would be to buy a 360 or a PS3 and a copy of GTA4 now, and pick up Rock Band 2 when it comes out later in the year.

As long as it keeps me occupied for at least a month that'll be enough to save for a PS3. Then I'll wait for Rockband 2 on it. :)

edit: also, I have to say the guitar controller feels like a billion times better than the Guitar Hero 3 one.

Does the tremolo bar go both up and down or only down? I hated in guitar hero how it only goes down.

Only goes down. I hate that too. But I never use it in rockband aywa, mostly because the effect doesn't sound quite right, sounds a lot better on GH3.
