i'm having a hard time in deciding whether to get worms on the DS or xbla worms. Which is better? Btw I'm looking forward to playing people online so i just wanna know if which is better online wise? And price is not an issue i dont mind buying it with a DS price or 800 ms points, i just want to know which game will have longer replay value

i could also advice the psp version
the network crashes are a bit nerving, but online and gameplay features are on the psp - in my opinion - better

ok it is a shame, but what do u mean by xbla? *fell ashamed*

I would imagine that he doesn't have a PSP or he would have listed the PSP version as a possibility, he clearly owns a DS and an XBox so you're comment was less than helpful. To be honest I've only played the XBLA version, and I'd probably recommend that, if only for the superior graphics..

Hope that helped :)

He means Xbox Live Arcade.

I haven't played the XBLA version, so i'd reccomend the DS worms. Don't get Worms Open Warfare 1, Get Worms Open Warfare 2. Thats the one that has online play.

Also there are 2 main differences to the DS and PSP versions. The DS one doesn't have hats, but the PSP version does.

I'd go for the DS version.

Also, he didn't mention PSP, so i doubt he's even got a PSP.

WOW2 DS > WOW2 PSP > WASO > WXBLA > WOW1 PSP > WOW1 DS

Handy chart!

Yes, I'd say that's an accurate representation of the third-gen 2D games.

I wonder if WOW2 DS should count as 2nd gen, since it's based on the 2nd-gen engine?

I should make a new topic...

No, it doesn't. Naming the game gens by what engine they used was generally just a simplified way of doing it. It's not a set rule.

It's not a set rule.
there are no set rules for generations at all. just general guidelines. so i suppose, you could go by the engine.

with worms, though, i'd go with the weapon set. every generations seems to get rid of most of the weapons from previous generation and start incrementally adding new ones. the cutback from w: dc to w2 isn't quite as severe as wwp to wow, but it was there.

in that sense, wow2 ds is certainly a 3rd gen.

He said he'd buy it for a DS Price, not he'd buy it with a DS
