Hello Worms and Wormetts....

I'm sorry for bothering you, but I need help. Whenever I create a server no one is seemingly able to join. I tried port fowarding, but I don't know what I should put for the "Name", if it's any difference. (For example, I know W:A's name is WormsArma but I have no idea for Worms World Party.)

If you can help thanks a lot. =)

Provide a screenshot of the port forwarding page in your router please :)

You can put anything as a name, it's for if you have to forward many ports and you need to know which one's which if you can't remember. And the only port you need for both WWP and WA is 17011.

wwp uses 17012 afaik.

EDIT: forward 17011

Worms World Party uses port 17011 TCP, not 17012.

Oh, i thought they used different ports from each other...

You're thinking of 6667, which does not need to be forwarded for hosting, just unblocked for joining Wormnet. In WWP, it's 6677 instead. But 17011 is unaffected.

Hi,

Well I attempted some stuff, and made my network stop working >.< Anyways that gave me a good scare, so I guess i don't really to be able to host games, as long as I can join. By the way, I tried unblocking the ports and such.

Thanks for trying to help!

I tried fowarding my ports (including 17011) disabling my firewall, and even got a stationary I.P., and it still doesn't work. Is there anything that i'm missing?

I have the same problem (like many many other people). I have forwarded 17011 in the same way i forwarded my uTorrent port and uTorrent works fine. I disabled any and all firewalls that i have and still nothing.

I'm convinced that my ISP blocks port 17011, is that likely?

I had the same problems as you guys and i followed what it said on the "Worms World Party PC CD-ROM FAQ's" located on this forum about connecting. Opened all TCP incoming and outgoing ports as it said to do, on my computer and router and still nothing. I also directed the calls for those incoming ports to my computers ip address from the router, still nothing...

...and then i read in the FAQs... "You will also need to set your IP address within the front end of the game. Select the configuration option on the network screen and enter the IP address of your gateway in the box labelled 'your I.P. address'. The IP address should not begin with 10. , 192.168. or 169.254."

...I thought wait a minute, my ip address on "ipconfig" is 192.168.0.2 and same for the configuration menu for on-line play on WWP, it wont work : (

So i went on worm net to join anyone's game and as i was logging on (on the screen where it has the button "log on") i found small sized text saying that my ip address was located as 87.689.something or other..... i thought that must be the address the FAQ talks about. Took a note of it, went on to the configuration menu for on-line play in WWP, i specified the ip address of what the log-in screen said to me, instead of the default "192.168....". Tried it, just to see, and bang, people started joining my host session. IT WORKED.
So possibly try that folks, dono, might work for you, for me that was the missing link.
