I downloaded WWP off the website linked to from the Team17 store. I activated WWP so it would work without a CD. Whenever I try to play a online game it says no CD found and wont let me in. How do I fix this? Is there a patch that will let me join games without a CD?

The TryMedia version is a waste of money as Trymedia do not patch the games the same as Team17 does - get a refund and buy the CD version from Team17, then this can be patched as necessary (although I think WWP doesn't need patching) and will work online.

I then suggest you go to the T17 store and buy one of the multipacks that contains Worms Armageddon, since that game is considered the best of the 2nd generation games, mostly because of the recent beta updates with lots of new features and tons of bug fixes.
