hi there ..

I'm new to the online version of the game. I've got a couple of queries though ..

1. How do the clans work? how do you get different clans to fight each other?

2. I've seen the threads on people who quit right at the last minute. How can you tell which player has done this? I've been enjoying playing the networked game but am also getting really annoyed when people quit when they're about to lose .. can't these people automatically go into surrender? I think this would solve the problem of people's % dropping through no fault of their own and ensure that those who were about to win are credited for it.

Thanks, PAN

1) Clans don't work. :p
The only use for them really is to whine about other players in your clans private forum, and gloat that you are in a clan. Still, they're fun.
If you're interested in joining a clan, play people from that clan to get a feel for it and if you decide it's the one for you then ask who their leader is, and talk about applying. It's also a good idea to ask any member where the website is and give it a look around. For example the clan I'm in: « îþ Imperial Pirates » (http://www.teamip.com)

2) Are you talking about ladder or non-ladder matches?
If non-ladder, there is nothing you can do except alt+f4 to speed up the process. Yes, your team will get worse stats, but no-one cares about them anyway.
As far as knowing who has done this, there is so rarely a geniuine connection failure that you're fairly safe to assume anyone who "lags out" has quit. Remember their name, and don't play them again.

Mod note: post restored after "inappropriate" links removed from the earlier-linked website

Are you talking about Worms 2? I just want to make sure.

They are independent of the game of course.
Clans meet up somewhere (on league websites, on instant messenger programs or in IRC channels) and play games.

Well, you can't tell what person is going to quit.
All you can do is remember their name and don't play any games with them in the future.
That is, if they play with the same name all the time.

AFAIR, if you host the game you should always get the win should your clients disconnect, wither by quitting deliberately or due to a network drop.
I have no idea how those league websites handle those cases though.

Lot's of useful info about the 2nd generation Worms games:
