I don't know if this is the best place to ask, but I don't seem to be getting answers on Yahoo Answers.

So to anyone who has bought this at Yahoo Games or just anyone who knows, how do I play the game after I purchased it on Yahoo Games UK?

I downloaded the try it, then after my time expired I decided to buy it through PayPal. So I have the reciept and all on my Yahoo Games account, but when I load the game up and it asks you to "Buy Full Version", I can click on "already paid" in the corner, then it takes me to the website and asks for my email and password, I type it in and it keeps saying "invalid email and/or password"?!!?!?! What am I suppose to do and what's going to that site going to do, since it's the same site I was just on using internet explorer?

I'm just confused on how the hell I get this game. It's probably simple but I for some reason cannot do it.

get a refund and buy it from the team17 online store.

Uninstall the trial from your computer, then download the full game from Yahoo and install that again?

If you get an invalid email/pass message, also try a password recovery to make sure you aren't getting it wrong.

Well, I first downloaded the one from the US yahoo site, but I couldn't see that one being able to use paypal on. But then I saw the UK one did use paypal, so I paid for it on that site. Then thought I must have to download it again from the UK site since the one from the US site (the actual game program I'm talking about) is different. So I don't think that's the problem since I did end up downloading it again.

I also found out that I do log in, it was just that I was already logged in is why it said wrong username/pw. It just never took me out of the "log in" page. I don't really know what that is about... I just know I can log in.

So anyway, the game application just takes me to the exact some place I can go on in Internet Explorer. It doesn't do anything. It just asks me to log on, and that's all. And I can view my account and everything.

So just forget about that invalid username and pw problem.

All I want to know is the exact steps of how people have bought and played this game using paypal on the Yahoo UK and Ireland site.

I would advise against using online distributors for WA, as you won't be able to apply the latest beta patches. Your best bet is to get a refund and order eithe directly from Team17, or looking on Amazon, eBay, etc.

I don't know anyone who has purchased the game through Yahoo Games, but the problem sounds like an error with their site. I would suggest contacting Yahoo support directly rather than Yahoo answers or here on the T17 boards as I think they are in the best position to help with this.

Good luck! :)

Are you also lost? How much is KRD paying you WAers?

Can't say I understand what you're getting at there, Reg. It's a fact - any version of WA bought online via services like TryGames, Yahoo! Games, GameTap etc. cannot be patched to the latest beta and so those customers will always be behind the bulk of the WA community.

Edit: Ah, yes. I am lost. Ignore me! :o

Well, there is the fact that it's planned that WA and WWP get merged.
At that point WWP players that downloaded their copy from an online distributor will probably run into the same problems that Trymeadia WA players have right now.

Having said that, there was once a discussion about including W2 into the same merging, which probably will founder on the big file size a patch for W2 would need because of the missing content that is available on the WA and WWP disks.

But still, there is the very slight possibility that it'll happen, which means that it's always better to own a copy of the original retail CD version (or compatible re-release or budget versions) of the game and not to be dependent on the online distributor to release a compatible patch (which is unlikely for beta versions of the patch anyway).

P.S.: I'm probably lost too. :p
