Hi,

I just got myself a copy from worms 2, (me happy worms 2 rulezzz :D) i installed the game using .now installer or something.
When i use the start menu shortcut it directs me to W2.exe on the CD, the game starts i hear audio but mij screen turns black and my monitor goes off with the message: Input not supported.
And if i go to C:/Program Files/Team 17/Worms2/worms2.exe the game won't even load.
Or if i choose C:/Program Files/Team 17/Worms2/frontend the game starts but when i start a battle the game freezes on creating the map.

My System specs:

OS: MS Windows Vista Home premium
Intel Core 2 Duo E 4300 @ 1.8 GHz
2048 MB Ram
Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS
Monitor: Acer AL1511

I am aleady running al executables on compatiblety mode on Windows 95 and i run them as an administrator.

Does anyone has a solution.

Thanks in advace

try win 98 mode? and ensure you applied the latest patch.

It means your monitor is too new and doesn't support the resolution. Try a) using the patch at www.spadger.uk.ro (IIRC) to enable high resolutions and b) untick the box nect to the clapperboard on the W2 launcher. Both of these together should fix it.

EDIT: Use these: http://spadger.uk.ro/worms2/snatchwp.zip

EDIT2: the file you need to use is wp.exe. Extract it into your W2 folder, run it, choose "Worms 2 Full", enable to "Use resolution 1024x768" (or whatever it is), then use the command to start the game

The first thing I would suggest is re-installing into a filepath with no spaces:
C:\Team17\Worms2 is good,
C:\Team 17\Worms2 is bad.

Running worms2.exe won't do anything useful, it's the frontend you need to get working. Are you using any other patches, perhaps a no-cd? Your problem sounds similiar to something you can have with that.

Franpa may be correct about the patch.
What version is your game, Spongerob? This can be found by right-clicking your frontend icon, selecting "properties", and then selecting the "version" tab.

Muzer: I don't think so. Also, the latest WP patch is here (http://computerhead.biz/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50).

Wait, is spongebob who i think he/she is from a year ago lol? anyways, he/she said they got the frontend to work. the problem was starting a game via worms2.exe or via the frontend (which works).

@ Muzer, when i use wp.exe it says file size invalid
@ Regulator, i never got into trouble with spaces from Prgram files, i didn't install any patches or something :S, and my version is 1.0.1.0 or 1.0.0.1 (File version 1.0.1.0. Prgram version 1.0.0.1)
and @ franpa, this is my first visit, i don't think we are the same person ;)

When it says "invalid input", does it look like a standard windows error or something different (usually on a black screen)? And do you have an LCD monitor?

i never got into trouble with spaces from Prgram filesMaybe not, but I still recommend you try it.
my version is 1.0.1.0 or 1.0.0.1 (File version 1.0.1.0. Prgram version 1.0.0.1)
You'll need this (http://www.worms2.com/main.html?page=supp&area=patc) patch.

What is the problem now, is it the same as before?

you should now be able to use wp.exe if you want to.

Hi all:
Got a bit different problem with worms 2 on Vista. I installed it just fine; the last installation screen asks you if you want the game started: I chose "yes" and the game launched. I was able to play a game or two. I've shut it down and now I cannot re-start again. I get annoying "Worms 2 Front End has stopped working" message from windows. I tried re-installing it again and again on last screen I chose to play the game and again it worked. Same problem came up if I want to restart it again. I'll hate to have to reinstall the game every time I want to play it. Does not seem to be system problem otherwise it wouldn't even start up to begin with (post installation). Any ideas? I need my daily dose of worms to de-compress...

I run a Vista home premium on Core 2 Duo with 3 gigs of ram. I've had vista for three weeks but I so far I am not impressed.

Thanks for any suggestions.
