True, the blood could be a darker tone, but it looks OK now, and I guess brighter blood is more "cartoony". Maybe. Also, I believe part of the problem before was the bright shine it had on it.

(on the point of changing my sigworm to have a beard) Two reasons why I won't.

1. I like to think of my sigworm's design as being very iconic and simple, and adding a beard would mess with that. Doesn't stop anyone else drawing me from adding a beard, but I'm not going to start doing it.

2. I am not my sigworm. I don't wear nuke goggles constantly, or have a pencil behind my ear mysteriously attached by velcro or something to the nuke goggles I don't wear constantly. I don't set bottles of Johnson's Baby Lotion on fire, and although I did very well at A-level chemistry, I'm more of a mathematician than a chemist. The upshot of all this is that, just because I have a beard, doesn't mean my sigworm has to.

You still have to admit it looks mighty cool.

Well, yes, granted.

O'course, I could make the beard a fixture of my evil alter-ego... :p

Just one thing, the eyebrows on Shadowdude look kinda out of place compared to the rest of the sketch. Maybe because theres to much of a thickness difference between the hair and the eyebrows.

I changed the color and added alot of black to be darker, but as it got dry, it changed to the same coor as the BG, so I used black outlines on some places, to make it distinguishable :-/

Certainly not I. From what I recall, I introduced ludicrous amounts of blood to this forum, though the exact image is no longer on my HDD (it was a WIP of a worm being shot by a minigun).

The gore and the violence adds alot of impact to the picture. It makes it much less plain and simple. And how to use the blood on the drawing, always with criativity, that's part of the art. :p

Oh and I couldn't agree more - blood, guts and gore are definitely an art within an art. Sometimes I consider it to be more important than many other things; composition, lighting, colouring, subject, these things often come second to or are based upon the blood.

I do hope you're using WormKit's water colour changer. You can grab the blood preset from my site - I don't play without it.

i can see where the inspiration came from... nice idea and a fairly good execution, specially on the details.

Once you got PS installed you can do a little tweak on the contrast/balance so you get a real white background and some darker lineart. I'd advice you to take a look at the tool called "Curves", as it does that trick with just a few clicks. :)

On the art itself, i can point some points where you could improve a bit:

· That fold between the worm "neck" and "tail" looks a bit weird... like it has some extra skin flap there or something.
· There shouldn't be that line dividing the "neck" from the "head" as worms usually have no chin whatsoever. If you did that on purpose to achieve some effect, ignore this.
· Teeth division seems a bit odd... try to make it smoother, barely shading where one tooth end and the other starts.
· The ears look a tad odd as well. They're tricky to draw. I usually go with just shading inside of it, only using lines for the contour.
· The magnifying glass perspective doesn't match the hand's perspective. And i think the hand is the most correct.

To sum up: good stuff, great potential! Keep'em comming! ;)

Fair enough. But then i'd advise you to project the face a bit forward like what happen to human face structure, where the lower jaw projects around 4cm forward. If you look at the drawings in which Slick appears as the Sex Machine, you'll notice that. :)

The only thing i could place a critique on is that the hands are a tad hard to understand, apart from that, it's pretty good.

Although i gotta say your former sig had way more personality (even it being an adaptation from Silent Hill).

Yeah, the hands, are complicated to understand in this perspective, but it's just and initial concept. Soon I'll explain everything better, making a profile, I guess

The hand thing is probably the media's fault and not yours, as i've seen how you draw hands and you seem to know what you're doing. Maybe the lack of outlining added to the complexity of that aparatus attached to the hands is making it confusing.

Still, great art. It shows the talent. Keep'em comming. ;)

I only made this one, for a comic that I had in my mind, on a future. But he's not really going to be my official sig or something like that

Critique:
• The nose looks weird;
• The bottom part of the worm looks weird as well. It seems as if he was standing on a slope and the right side is higher than the left side by some reason.

It is awesome but shouldn't the face on the turban's turban have a face on, too, also with a turban on, etc.

At least I think I got the morbid atmosphere right

the errors and what-not on that one kind of make it feel all part of the style. looks good.

nothing glaringly wrong or anything and just overall awesomeness.

Noice! The hands were spot on.

Suggestions:
• Anti-aliasing the lineart;
• The helmet doesn't have much "thickness" (as if it was made of 1mm steel plates... or... cardboard);
• The shading's a bit weird, but you're still getting the hang of it... i know you can make it better;
• The blood doesn't seem all that nice... i mean... after vader's blood... i guess i'll start to get a little picky on what's good and bad blood: :p
• SuperFrea's mouth seems odd.

I got lazy to do that in the helmet..I feel guilty now

On the blood: I didn't like it at all... Mostly because i still don't know how to change the oppacity, on Canvas.

Could you explain better the shading and the mouth things, so I can understand how to improve?

I think it's mostly you not being used to OpenCanvas interface/tools. I've seen what you can do with simple colour pencils, so this shouldn't be any hard for you.

The thing i didn't like about the blood was the style... it's a bit... i don't know... innacurate. I doubt the blood would splatter in such a pattern in a situation like that.

Actually, that's the nose between the fire and the putting it out with a baseball bat and the plastic surgery.

Great Picture, all the detail is so well done..... the blood, the Pyramid, pyramids rags etc.....

edit: on second thought, darken the lines on that hand out in front. it doesn't look any closer than the rest of the body right now and that makes it wonky. darker shading and/or thicker outlines should do the trick nicely.

It could be just me, but it looks very unnatural to have the joint of the thumb be sticking above the knuckles like that!


EDIT: Wait, either that, or what look like knuckles are actually the lower joints of the fingers (which would also make more sense since the other glove end in the middle of the fingers). And that the gloves don't have gaps between fingers for some reason. ...except that would mean that he doesn't have any knuckles at all! Or that he just has REALLY long fingers!
