I know this has been posted maybe too many times, but since they didn't give me any further help, I decided to ask it in a new thread.

My Worms 3D has worked before, but when I had forgotten the game, I hadn't played for a while. So now I decided to try it again. There's one problem. Windows error after Sega logo. Tried upgrading my drivers. No help. Tried /SHUTUP /NOMOVIES /NOHUD /NOMUSIC. No help.

Tell me what to do. dxdiag tests work all perfectly.

Hello,

The game won't load beyond the SEGA logo on my PC either. My name here "hacked off" says it all. Why when there are system changes , OS upgrades don't they have simple fixes for this !!!!!!!!!!!! Can anyone help. If the game doesn't play then "we" should get our money back. :-(

Have you got the latest graphics card drivers? What OS do you have?

What happens if you skip the logo?

Oh...

Can't you go to a different version of Windows? Vista isn't normally compatible with every program you use.

Worms3D should be normally Vista compatible, shouldn't it?

It's been said before and it'll be said again: Update your Graphics Card drivers. That usually solves this problem.

Sorry guys, I've given up with this. I can re-confirm that I have the latest graphic drivers. I'll go further the game runs on a laptop with the same operating system as I am running now !!!! Simply if the game manufacturer is NOT going to assist then i'll reciprocate - I won't buy any further SEGA games.

Signing off for the final time - oh and a word of caution to all out there - if you are going to offer advice on fixes to anyone make sure youre not taking crap !!!!!!!!!!!

If you'd mentioned you were using a laptop that might've helped. That's a crucial piece of information, that is - there are many games that do not work with laptop hardware because the architecture is different. Examples include The Sims 2 University, WarHammer 40,000: Fire Warrior, and Worms 4: Mayhem. W4M is built on the Worms 3D game engine, so it wouldn't surprise me if W3D didn't work on laptops either.

Oh, and a word of caution to you - If you are going to be indignant about people not being able to help, make sure you're not talking crap exclamation mark exclamation mark exclamation mark exclamation mark exclamation mark exclamation mark exclamation mark exclamation mark exclamation mark exclamation mark.

Hmm... perhaps it needs to be highlighted:
the game runs on a laptop

Actually, I don't know where you got the impression that W4M doesn't work on a laptop from in the first place.

Yes, but he/she didn't mention this until he/she decided to throw a fit and say we give crappy advice, rather then say from the very beginning "I'm running the game on a laptop..." - that's kind of the entire point of my post. Or hadn't you noticed that? I don't just rant about laptop incompatibility for no ruddy good reason, Poirot.

Do not be fooled by the cunning Alt account, here - Hacked Off and Snipufin are the same person. I know, it's shocking! It's not like this person has flat out told us, is it? Honestly, Plasma, you seem to get thicker by the day.

Probably from the fact that there are a ton of laptops out there that utterly refuse to run it. Such as mine, for instance.

...let's try again.
THE GAME WORKS ON THE LAPTOP FOR HIM! Hence why he said "the game runs on a laptop"! The problem is that it doesn't work on whatever computer he's trying to get it to run on. Gotit?

Well he wasn't very clear about it. And in any case, the Operating System doesn't determine how the rest of the hardware works, so he's being a bloody idiot anyway.

Please don't jump to conclusions. I have evidence which says otherwise.

Hacked Off's post is clearly a follow-up to Snipufin's.

For all of you people getting all superior and computer smug about graphics drivers and laptops, you're wrong! I'm having the same problem with my desktop and also, bear in mind that the original poster had been successfully playing their game for ages before the problem, as had I. I haven't played it in a while but tried it today. It became non-responsive after the Sega logo. It happened quite a few times. My first intinct was to reinstall but now, instead of crashing after the Sega logo, it doesn't open at all and I get an error reading of "Conflict with Disc Emulator Software detected. See www.securom.com/emulation for more details. I've updated my graphics card driver so that's not the problem. I went to the url given but it has solutions for every error message possible apart for the one that I'm getting. There was also some stuff that means nothing to me as I'm only moderately (if even that) computer literate. :( annoyed

Where did you buy your game?

Please make sure you got last versions of your graphic card and motherboard. And maybe you need other card upgrades(sound card, etc.)
If you have did your all upgrades and game still doesn't working be sure you have bought an original game.If you haven't an orginal game you can run your game too hard and maybe imposible.
I think i could help you;);):):);)
