Hey everyone, my friend just gave me an old copy of Worms 2 (it's the Sold-out software version, I doubt it can be found on the site anymore), and I tried to install it.

At first, the installation couldn't detect a Shockwave Player on my computer, so I installed it and tried to install Worms 2 again.

After approximately 3 seconds after the "Please wait while detecting your system configuration", an error message pops up and reads: Error # 53- File not found.

I'm using a Windows XP Professional Edition, a Radeon 9200 card and an Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz with 1GB of RAM. W: A, WWP, Worms Blast, W3D and even W4:M work, but this has a file not found error.

Why? Any help is appreciated; thanks! :D

The only thing that I could think of is reinstalling shockwave which I'm not sure is even possible to do easily. Try looking on Adobe's site.

simply install shockwave over the top of it self to rectify any problems it has. perhaps the weird installer hates new versions of shockwave? anyways search the cd for another installation program since the one that requires shockwave is NOT the one that installs the game :P

What is the regular installation routine for W2?
Is that one still available on a Sold-Out CD?
If so, ignore the (auto-playing) Sold-Out installer and use the regular one.

well im not entirely sure what the "normal" installer is but my cd has a hasbro loader but when i hit install it runs another exe (the install.exe or whatever) which is seperate to the hasbro loader and looks like the kind of setup to be found on all legit cd's...

Yes, that's what I meant.
Try to load a "install.exe" or "setup.exe" manually.

I'm not sure how it's called on a regular W2 CD.
IIRC, a original ones did have an auto-run pop-up window too.
Was it called "launch.exe"?

here is a picture of each loader, I can make them use IMG tags...

The second and the third are the original auto-start pop-up and the installer respectively.
Use these.
