I recently bought WWP (rather, I downloaded it, not illegally, I did buy it) and it worked fine, until I downloaded the patch and subsequently the mission editor. Now my game requires me to play with a CD, which I obviously do not have. Can anyone help me out, or do I have to re-download with my activation code? Is there a way to get my game back to normal?

Patches don't work on downloaded (TryMedia) versions. Sorry.

Trymedia should be pre-patched anyway.

Shouldn't it?

He might have downloaded a warez and the patch probably overwrites whatever crack that comes with those, and so now, he's seeking for help.

Try reading the first post of this thread.

There's no proof that he purchased and downloaded the game from the trymedia website but there's three answering posts regarding trymedia.
Since all the information we get from his post is that he bought the game and downloaded it from the internet without a time frame I figured out that I'd give the other possible answer to his problem.
Trymedia is the obvious thing, yes, and it's probably the case, but I never knew it's illegal to buy the game, lose the CD, and then download it from the internet.

Wait, you're saying I can't download the game from whatever website I want to after I've purchased the license?
*facepalm*
Look, it's quite obvious that Neoterikos bought the downloadable Trymedia version. Which the regular patches don't work for. So I really don't see why you feel the need to argue against that.

The thread creator suggests they parted with money when they commenced the download, suggesting the game was bough from TryGames. Especially as they then go on to mention an activation code.

Hmm...
Neoterikos, could check what version of WWP your game has, without any patches added?
Hover the mouse cursor over the logo on the main menu.
V1.0 is unpatched and v1.01 is the patched version (for the CD versions at least).

You might need to re-install from the files you downloaded and use your activation code again.
(That is, if you're talking about Trygames. I don't know how it works with GameTap.)

The question is, does the downloadable version, if it is already pre-patched work with the mission editor?
If not, then the Trygames version of WWP is as useless as the WA one.
