He left the forum. You're more likely to find him on Dream17 / Jump Leads and on Gtalk / Xfire.

I mean you can never leave and all but what are his intentionsI think he couldn't stand the stupidity in the forum and considered it best to leave, since he has a very short fuse. Dunno if he'll come back.

I'm dipping back in and our every now and then, but for the large part you should consider be Gone. Even OD has lost its allure.

How are you liking living in Los Angeles?

One of the colleges I am considering is in L.A., I haven't visited it yet but it seems really appealing, might have a bring my GPA up a skosh to get in there though. L.A. comes pretty heavily recommended from family and friends of family so I need to check it out at some point

I obviously can't speak about the College, but I really enjoy LA. There's always something to do and places to go. I'm seldom bored.

I'm sure it's a little bit better than Laconia, New Hampshire anyway. I know just about everyone that isn't from a major city says they have nothing to do but holy mother of God

Which college? I go to UCLA, so if you say you were considering going here then DO IT!;)

I quite like it here too. I don't really go off campus much, as there isn't much need, but we're in Westwood which is a really nice part of LA and you just walk south down Westwood Blvd. past the UCLA Medical Center and boom you're surrounded by restaurants and shops and stuff. I don't have a car, but I don't miss having one either - there isn't much need. There's so much stuff nearby, and if by some chance you need to go somewhere far away, bus tickets are just 25 cents for students here. Really the only thing I wish I had my car here for is to drive back home for holidays...

I must say I miss the stars though. In my hometown we have a really good view of the stars because we're pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but in LA there's squat in the sky. It's really kind of eerie...:-/

Woah no kidding?? That was absolutely the one I was considering, the more I look at it the more I want to go, especially with that medical center.

Did you find it difficult to get into? The average GPA is terrifying but I think I'd be able to take them in SAT scores. I'm not a California resident either and I don't think that'll help.

What would you want to study?

I don't know how you would define difficult to get into, but I don't feel like I particularly worked my lol off or anything to get in. But I don't really know if I barely got in or if I got in by a long shot - UCLA was the hardest school to which I applied - I didn't want to go to a private school or anything, so although UCLA was my target school to which I planned to go, I didn't apply to anything higher because none of those schools appealed to me. (They tell you to apply to a school you don't expect to get into - I didn't) I didn't apply to Berkely because they don't offer my major (Aerospace Engineering) so I only applied to the lower UC schools like Santa Barbara and then Cal Poly SLO as backups, all of which I got into.

I don't remember at all what the average gpa and sat scores were at the time, but if it's a matter of interest my gpa's for all the years were 4.0 4.0 4.33 4.33, so when I applied to college I think I had a 4.11 or something even though I graduated with 4.16. I got a 2010 SAT1 (760 math, forgot the other two) and then on the SAT2 I got 800 in math and 730 in chemistry.

Since I applied as an engineer I think a lot of what got me in was my essays where I wrote about how I made the hovercraft and electric balalaika and stuff and how I liked making stuff yadda yadda. I think that I had already shown interest in the field and gone out and made stuff on my own helped me oodles to get in.

It's really kinda random. There are lots of smart people here (I guess it's "there" now - I'm home on holiday:p) but then you see the person who makes you wonder how on earth they got into this school. There are geniuses and morons who get in, and a lot of people in between who don't...:p

I hope I wasn't prying or anything asking that, but it is interesting to know. I was interested in doing something in medical science so I'd probably end up majoring in Biology or Biochemistry, something along those lines. I'm still in my Junior year so I am still trying to figure out where exactly I want to go and do. UCLA looked pretty difficult, mostly because there is nobody in my class, and possibly in my school, with a GPA over 4. I did pretty well on the PSATs and if you take what I got and figure out what I'd probably get on the SATs I'm pretty much right where I need to be (not that it would hurt to study a bit, of course). I don't know if they just add the extra sway for Honors classes behind the scenes without telling us or if I was actually just doing that bad (I had a 3.9 first quarter, has since dropped due to an incident involving my own stupidity in a few classes). The school I go to is pretty gangsta so I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually the former. I haven't checked UC Berkeley out as much, I'll probably put it on my list somewhere.

Oh, not at all.:)

Good luck! I know it's quite a long trip for you, but if by some chance you ever come visit the campus, I'll probably be there unless it's summer or spring break or something...which are probably the most opportune times to visit...:p:rolleyes:

I am going to try to visit, might be during "april vacation" which doesn't exactly coincide with spring break... who knows, I'll let you know as more things develop though.

How about Graz, Austria?
There's a university, a technical university, an arts university, a university for applied sciences and several colleges dedicated to specific disciplines of study.
