I haven't been here since a few years ago, maybe one or two I think. I logged in , updated my email and password, then tried to post. Then I got this weird message:

I can't imagine what I was banned for. Could someone please unban my original account or explain why it's banned?

You have to activate your account before you do anything. Go to your email and there should be an email by Team 17. Click it, and it tells you how to activate your account.

That's kind of a random way to say that I haven't activated my new email address...

I can't find any record of a ban (although that doesn't mean there isn't one). Have you confirmed your email?

this has happend to me just a week ago. I was reading some old posts and I saw my name without an avatar. I thought it was just an error since there were no 'being watched' or 'Banned' tags on my name, but then I couldn't start a thread or access my PM's. I was freaking out! then I decided to just go and check my mail when I noticed that I had to re-activate it.

It could be you just got caught up in an IP address ban, but that wouldn't really explain why you could post 14mins later from the same IP address.

Probably just a glitch in the forum software. You did visit last over 5 years ago, so that might have contributed :p

Sometimes, say if an email sent to you bounces back to Team17, accounts are marked as "deactivated" and you have to put in a new email address and activate it (or fix the problem with the old one and reactivate it with that).
