Hello my wormy buddies, this is an exciting time of year for me and my buddies, basically every year, we have our own little Worms World Cup.
(offline NOT online) (we using worms world party)

The rules have changed.... WE USING WORMS ARMAGEDDON with the 3.6.28.0 BETA PATCH

Exactly the same as the soccer world cup (32 teams, group stage, playoffs, quarter finals, semi finals and obviously the GRAND FINALS)

But this year we felt we would involve the community to a degree, what i need from all you interested fans are:

Which teams do you want to partake in our world cup?
We only use 4 worms a team, so please supply your country and 4 worm names... (try to relate the names to the country you choose)
(but please remember we using worms world party, so you can only choose a country that already has their country flag in the game.)

So simply give us, your country's name, your captain's name(worm1) & 3 other names.

Every night, we will have FOUR deathmatchs. and the following day, i will post the details of the matchs... (who won, worm of the match, who killed who with which weapon etc etc etc)

This is simply for fun, and for basic betting amongst friends. Plus it should be exciting to hear each day, on the progress of how the world cup is going.

Now basically its me HaK.... and 7 of my buddies, each of us will be incharge of playing with 4 countries each. (WE WILL HONOUR YOUR COUNTRY AND FIGHT TO THE DEATH) we are not bias at all.

Sunday the 14th of October, will be the first four matchs. So please any teams and worm names should all be in latest by this coming FRIDAY 12th october.
(any that are not, we will make up ourselves.)

This doesn't sound like too bad an idea.

What would make it better, of course, would be to do it in Worms Armageddon, because then you can post a replay of each match.

I support the idea of WA and replays.

To export the flags simply copy them from your WWP flag folder to your WA flag folder.
To post replays on this thread simply upload them to the internet and post links. The replays are automaticly stored in Worms Armageddon/User/Games.

What could also work though, is, instead of you playing the countries, have the CPU5 play with the countries.

I see what you mean by just letting the CPU's play... my only problem with that, is 9/10 the ai wont use all the weapons, and it will kinda be a bazooka and grenade match.... every match.... Plus we want to play...

But seeing as we doing this with the community in mind....
We will let you (The worming community) Decide...

WOO HOO... well its official the WORMS WORLD CUP, will be played on WORMS ARMAGEDDON with latest updates... and it WILL be recorded live, and all 64 matches will be linked on this thread.... HELL YEAH.

Secondly we decided, that WE (my 7 buddies and I) WILL be playing each match, trust me it will be alot more exciting to watch real GOOD players, instead of the cpu.

Secondly the worms world cup will be delayed by a few days, just to allow more guys a chance to register their teams, so far the cut off date will now be a week from now, WEDNESDAY the 17th October, at 15:45 gmt + 2..... with the First matches taking place on Thursday night, and hopefully being available to watch, from Friday 19th october (Sometime in the morning)

This world cup is gonna be BIGGER, BETTER, and BADDER than we first expected! But please you gotta get all your teams in LATEST by next week wednesday, so on Thursday morning i will be able to release, Which team is in which group etc etc.

So get your teams in ASAP. just remember not every country has a speechpack that is for them, but where i can use the right speechpack, i will. But if your country does NOT have one, we will either use, Classic worms sounds, or american worms soundbanks...

Well due to local paparazzi pressure's, my client "HaK" wishes me to give a short bio, on his story and life.... Sorry NO PICTURES please.

HaK (aka Suicide) is a worm of immense mystery, anyone who has been lucky enough to see this legendary worm, didn't survive to tell anyone what he look's like.

HaK is 24 years old (10876 in worm years) with 13 years of worming battle experience. He is undefeated, and has never lost a fight to any worm or team of worms. He is cunning and stealthy, he could squirm right up behind you, and you would not know he is there... Some say he recieved intensive Ninja Worm training in Hokkaido, where others say he fought in the guerilla wars of the Congo.... Others speculate that every 2 weeks or so, he undergo's severe plastic surgery to prevent his true identity from being discovered.

But one thing is for sure... you never wanna battle against HaK....
It will be the last thing you do...

There is a rumour that HaK will be the captain of team SOUTH AFRICA, Taking part in HaK's Unofficial WORMS WORLD CUP...

Yeah, England is fine. Well Canada is rubbish at competition (Except currency. Hehe, it's $1.053 now) and plus, MP is pretty awesome, so. :-/

Hooli is known for his exciting and unpredicatable Worm-Play... You can never be quite sure what to expect, but i can tell you one thing.

HE IS SCARY. Very Very scary, known for his tendencies to snatch candy away from a baby worm, and still laugh about it. Hooli is Trully a LEGEND.

At the moment a replay of worms armageddon is about 10.5 kbs - 100 kbs
Where an AVI would be 10 meg - 100 meg... I have only a limited amount of space i can post on the net. So im sorry but no.

(maybe another fan if they can, can try release them in AVI or MOV format, if it is even possible, i think the replays definatly need to use armageddon's "ENGINE" to be able to run the files....)

Next question is, IS NOBODY INTERESTED??? Where are any NEW team names.

Or is everyone upset that my Country (SOUTH AFRICA) made it too the rugby world cup final, against ENGLAND this weekend coming...??? hehe

Y'know, I had an idea for a Worms World Cup a long time ago. The idea was that each game would be a 3v3 match with three worms on each team (so nine worms a side in total) and the three allied teams would all be controlled by people from the same country.

But anyway. England is already taken, so I guess I'll have to go for Wales (no flag in the game, but there is an anthem!).

Well you dont have to reinstall WWP.... because we are using WORMS ARMAGEDDON, with the v3.0 patch, then updated to the 3.6.28.0 BETA patch.
So that we can record our matches....That way you can download all our matches, and watch them with WORMS ARMAGEDDON....

ps: Hi guys, i just want to say, if your country does not have a FLAG or SPEECHPACK in WORMS ARMAGEDDON, we will have to just choose something, as close as we can get... (sorry not every country was included/supported properly in Worms Armageddon)

Just to give you a breakdown... the Worms World Cup matches will only be uploaded to the internet during the week, (sadly im not online at home.) So on saturday's and Sunday's those matches will only be available for download on the Monday straight after the weekend...

This world cup is working EXACTLY on the same principles as the Soccer World Cup.
64 matches. Group stages first, playoffs second, quarter's, Semi's and then the
3rd/4th place match will take place the day before the GRAND FINAL...

On monday you can expect to have the first four matches. i will also include the ENTIRE SCHEDULE for the world cup, at the same time...

Showing you, which teams are in which groups, and a schedule of all the Group Stage matches... obviously i can't give the schedule for the playoffs, but it will work on the principles that whoever comes 1st and 2nd in their respected groups, will go through to the playoff's...

8 groups of 4 in the group stages.

Well i dunno about you, but im getting damn excited for this world cup, its gonna be great, so remember you all only got until tommorrow to be one of the last teams to register, the CUT OFF time is still 14:00 GMT + 2. no other team will be registered after that time. Any teams not included, we will make up ourselves to complete the 32 teams...

Well TODAY IS THE DAY.... Country and team registrations CLOSE today at 14:00 gmt + 2.... So get any outstanding teams in ASAP...

Whatever spaces we have left out of the 32 teams, we will fill up ourselves.

Let me explain now about the WORMS WORLD CUP weapons scheme...

At the start of each match...
Every team, has 2 of every weapon, and 1 of every Super weapon....
But unlimited supply of the usual, like firepunch, blowtorch, bungee, dragon ball.... etc...

The stronger weapons, are obviously only available after a certain amount of turns... We have tested this scheme, and it works really well...

Each worm has 200 health... (it wont last long, with all the super weapons :)
each round has a maximum time of 25 minutes until sudden death...
And during sudden death, we went for a CLASSIC approach, when sudden death arrives, the water does NOT rise... all worms just go to 1 health...

Crates have a very high chance of ALSO containing SUPER WEAPONS...
And health crates give 100 health...

Also, might I reccomend that you have a link to a separate site/picture/post for the score of a match, so that we can still watch the replay without already knowing who won?

Moreso, most of the countries don't have generic names, but names of important people for their country.

I would suggest, if possible, that the names of Argentina be changed to:

Hello once again my little wormy buddies...

ITS FINALLY ARRIVED, THE WORMS WORLD CUP IS HERE!!! first four matches below...

Man oh MAN, what a weekend, not only did my home country (South Africa) win the
Rugby WORLD cup, but my buddies and I started the WORMS WORLD CUP!!!!

ATTENTION: POSSIBLE GLITCH ALERT!!!

Now im not sure if its just my pc, but i have experienced not a really harmful
glitch, just a damn ANNOYING one... I only experienced this, once i had updated
my WORMS ARMAGEDDON, to V3.0 and then to 3.6.28.0 BETA...

(which is required to view the replays)

Now basically what happens, is when i start a DEATHMATCH, the second team that
i pick... When i start the game, their SPEECHPACK, always defaults itself to
the "AFRIKAANS" (South African Language) SPEECHPACK. Even though i have selected
their own SPEECHPACK, when i created the teams... The first teams speechpack
works perfectly, and even if i swop the teams around. The first team selected
their speechpack always works fine, but the second always plays the "AFRIKAANS"
speechpack.... HOPEFULLY ITS JUST ME... if it is,yours will play them perfectly.

But if you do experience this problem. Then it must be the update.

BUT DONT WORRY!!! it can be fixed, all you have to do, is see which team was
selected second, which is easy, just look at the replay file, and the name
that is second... eg CHINA,PAKISTAN. (Obviously PAKISTAN)is the team that's
SPEECHPACK will default to afrikaans... so what to do, is just backup your
Afrikaans directory... and copy the SPEECHPACK that you want the second
team to sound like into the "AFRIKAANS" directory. keeping the "AFRIKAANS"
directories name, just the sound files within the directory must get copied
over. If the "AFRIKAANS" directories name gets changed, then the second
team wont say a word at all....

So its very confusing... But i hope you don't experience it...

But anyway, apart from that, the WORMS WORLD CUP REPLAYS, work perfectly....
Remember you can speed up the game by pushing 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. the higher
the number the faster the game... the lower the number, the slower it goes.
rememer number 1... is the NORMAL speed...

By holding SHIFT and then pushing either 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. you can SLOW-MO
the game, which is really cool... Our personal favourite, is pushing SHIFT-5
during the KILL BLOW/LAST SHOT move that ends the match... really funny
sometimes... and obviously the higher the number the SLOWER it goes...

You can also move your mouse around, and watch the match from which ever view
you want...

VERY IMPORTANT....

Below you will find the SCHEDULE/SCORECARD for the WORMS WORLD CUP... just
download it... PRINT it on an A4 piece of paper , and fill it out at home,
so you can keep track of the world cup...

IF A TEAM WINS, they get 3 POINTS. A Draw gets 1 POINT. And a LOSE gets 0 points

PLAYOFF/QUARTER/SEMI/FINALS scorecard, for you to download...
