I've got:

Armageddon
World Party
and
Mayhem

all which don't want to seem to run under Vista... patched/unpatched with admin mode on/off.... the user account mode 'off' and so on...

Games *will* install but not run...!

I'm having to maintain playing Armageddon and World party on my faithful-but-slow-and-dying old 700mhz XP machine and Mayhem on our other tower system...

I do believe that there is a problem (somehow) with the Intel processors (of which my new system has... a 1.8Ghz dualcore processor)

So.. is there any way around this issue as yet? or do I have to keep playing on two other computers - of which mine seems unreliable and the other tower isn't mine but my partners...?

Incidentally, was going around a computer shop the other day when I saw a copy of World Party with a sticker on the front of it saying it was 'vista compatible'.... (thoughts please)

Thanks in advance and sorry this isn't in a tech thread.. couldn't find it and its late here as I write this :)

worms world party, IS compatible with Windows Vista....

My cousin has it running on vista, no problems, except, the menu's run terribly slow, but the game itself runs fine...

I have the exact same problem (slow menus) running windows XP & Worms world party

Worms 4 mayhem also works with his vista (ultimate)

As for your other vista problems, sorry buddy im not a vista master YET!!!

You might wanna be more specific than "not run". Worms Armageddon (with beta patch), Worms World Party and Worms 4 Mayhem should run fine on Windows Vista (i.e. they do for me), though there's always issues with specific hardware. (posting yours might be useful)

Slow frontend is usually a problem with the graphics drivers, I don't think there's any fix for it buy trying different drivers and/or graphics cards.

My PC set up (which runs absolutely superb)

Intel celeron processor (700 mhz)
onboard gfx (4mb)
Win XP Pro

Games installed and working:

Worms2
Armageddon
World Party

My Vista Machine (Laptop)

1.8Ghz Dualcore intel pentium
Vista Home Premium
can't work out the gfx (yet)

Games installed and working:

Worms 3D

(Incidentally, our other computer is running XP Home and runs Mayhem and Armageddon - with no problems and is our *main* gaming PC... our PS2 doesnt' work unless it's been kicked a bit.. and thats for Blast & Forts under Siege)

*phew!* I hope this helps... I've not been using Vista for very long (less than 2 weeks.... )

You more than likely have an intel graphics chipset. These combined with Vista don't work with WA or WWP due to lack of Direct Draw compatibility. See the thread "Stupid intel graphics cards/chipsets" in the Worms Armageddon channel.
