Hi folks!

I play WA for about 6 years now and im used to the patch and update routines.

What happened:
After having a WA-pause for about 2 month i tried to start the game and after a black-screen for about 5 secs it returned to windows and i got following error in the error.log file:
wa caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
in module MMSwitch.ax at 001b:1d1c4e86.
Exception handler called in ExceptionAttacher.cpp - AfxWinMain.

i uninstalled and reinstalled WA several times without any noticable changes :p
^^old programmer-trick (if your car doesnt start, just get out of it and in again and try to start it again ;)

Then i spend little time on the forum and did read the hint about the "/nointro"-part, which i tested and "voila" WA started and crashed on starting a mission (more polite to test there than with an online-game).
the strange part is, that it crashed on that spot only once! A re-try solved all the problems?!

what i've done befor running WA:
- installed "Neverwinter Nights 2"
^^including DirectX 9c and .NET Frameworks 2.0

I think my problem is solved by the "i-dont-know-why-but-now-it-works"-engineering-trick, but perhaps someone else has the same probs and team17 might know the backrounds of that problem

greetings,
Renadda (actual WA-nicks: Tillule/JohnSinclair)

have you tried reinstalling DirectX? It's highly unlikely that the mere presence of NWN2 will cause problems with WA, otherwise it would be a more widespread problem. i know a lot of people who have NWN2 and WA, and they've not experienced any problems.

I didn't read the whole thing... it's been a bit of a hectic day for me so far...

yep - as said: im fine with it now, but no idea where the problem was hided ??!

np not to read the whole story ;) Its a nice sevice, that peeps are answering that fast and telling that other guys did the same (or a similar) way without that bug is also sort of an answer.

thanks so far!
