I bought Worms 4 yesterday, it installed and ran just fine. Trouble is, now and then it randomly freezes and even a ctrl-alt-del won't unstick it, I have to reset my PC. This usually occurs at least once per half hour of play.

My PC is way over the required specs, has all the latest drivers for every component, and has no stability issues in any other games. Dawn of War, World of Borecraft etc. all run just fine.

I've got the Worms4 patch installed already.

System specs:

AMD AthlonXP 3000+
1 Gig RAM
Geforce FX5600
Windows XP - fully updated
Plenty of HD / Cache space (over 40gig free)
Latest supported directX etc.

Ideas, anyone?

Hmm...does your computer stick like this any other time? Or is it just Worms 4?

I have had a similar experience where it happened to me almost all the time. However, I "flashed" my bios with a new update, and it's never crashed since.

I would strongly advise you don't do it though, it's risky and usually a last resort.

My computer has never exhibited a single fault besides this one. I built it with stability as the primary interest, since it was intended for live music perfomance.

I strongly suspect it's a fault in Worms 4, since Worms 3 used to do the exact same thing (on Gamecube, anyway. I never tried the PC version of 3)

edit: It just happened again, and when I reloaded... all of my save data had been erased. Teams, progress, everything. Aaaaargh!
