I just went into Training Mission 3, and I got these screens:

(click for a really big image to see detail...)

Notice in the lower-right and lower-left corners of the info box in the middle, there are lines of pixels missing... Does anyone else get this?

I've only got until Wednesday to take it back and get a replacement... Can someone offer some (fast) advice??? (maybe one of the TT devs as well?)

There's another problem where if I scroll to the right side of the map, the left column of pixels gets weird, it looks like it's switched with the other screen. Sorry, I don't have a pic. I'll try to get one tomorrow evening (tuesday)

This stuff seems to show up on my game too. I wouldn't worry about it. Small graphical errors don't break the game at all.

Man, you are picky. A few missing pixels on an info field would be the straw that breaks the camel's back and makes you take this back? If you wanna take it back, take it back, is all I can say.

Holy cow, no I'm not being picky, I've never seen something like this in a game--ever. Furthermore, the game acted weird when I first got it, but it has been working fine since. I just needed to know if anyone else has had the same problems.

What happened when I first got it was my DS didn't recognize it, and then it froze up mid-game because my DS thought it had been ejected... But no problems since. That just made me worry is all.

Finally, thanks George.CAR

That sounds like a dodgy contact to me. My mobile does that all the time and I tend to fix it by scraping them with a pin -- I wouldn't recommend that, though, for obvious reasons.

Personally, I've had far stranger things happen to games than any of this, particularly with cartridge-based ones. (Disc based ones tend to either work perfectly, or fail completely.)

I thought it could be a contact as well, except for that this only happens in the Training Mission 3...

And, what would you do, return it or deal with it?

My game wasn't detected the first time either but I tried it again and it's worked fine ever since (the contacts needed some breaking in). Those extremely minor graphical glitches are part of the game and not a detective card. I didn't really notice them until I read this thread, maybe Two Tribes didn't notice it either (in that case well done in spotting it). If you push select to display the minimap, you won't see that small line of odd pixels on the top screen when you scroll all the way to the right (at least I didn't). WOW2 displays 3D and multiple layers of 2D on two screens at the same time and still has a great frame rate, it's complex code and difficult to get perfect. I suggest you keep the game and just try to live with the minor imperfection, it shouldn't be too hard to deal with.

Thanks. Good to know that that I'm not the only one experiencing this... REALLY good to know. Yeah, the minimap draws on top of the pixel line, by the way, and I can live with it quite comfortably (in fact, I didn't notice the line until I got like 4/5 the way through the space missions...), I was just afraid that mine was defective or something...
