I'm thinking of buying a headset but first I have a few questions.

Does it work on ad hoc and infrastructer mode? And do have to be in a clan in order to use it or can you just be playing for fun?

Thanks for your answers in advance.

...why not just get TeamSpeak? It's free. It's free. You use your computers mic, and speakers. And... it's free. :p

because headsets cost 5 bucks at gamestop, some of us have them, and we'd like to use them. Your response doesn't answer the question.

I'm also looking for the same answer - I want to TALK to people in game!

Hopefully one of the team 17 staff can answer this.

If the game DOES NOT support the headset then why say it ON THE GAME COVER!!!:mad::mad::mad:

Sorry, I'm a bit mad as you can see. THERE MUST BE SOMEONE WITH A HEADSET THAT KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!! (cry cry cry)

I know how you feel. I've tried and tried, but can't figure it out. It seems like no one else has, either, or we'd be hearing it sometimes.

Neither version of the game has a voice chat feature.

is there any chat function in the game at all?!?!?

The PSP version lets you send pre-defined messages (you have to edit them before you go online) and not everyone will read them since they have to navigate a few menus to do it. The DS version has no chat function of any kind.

FOR THE LAST TIME..... THE COVER OF THE PSP (WORMS OPEN WARFARE 2) GAME SAYS HEAD-SET-COMPATIBLE!!! READ IT AGAIN....HEAD-SET COMPATIBLE!!

I not mad at you. I'm not mad at anyone. I just want to know how this works!

This is my proof. READ THE PINK ONE.

I doubt it very much that it was a mistake.

It was probobly a scrapped feature that was lost before release, and they forgot to update the box.
It absolutely would not be this difficult to figure out.

Where are the devs on this one? Someone start PM-bombing em.

It's not hard to believe, but it's hard to accept. I like team17 but it's not like they haven't messed up before. Everyone has - lets thank god that this didn't turn out as bad as worms OW1 for DS.

is there any chat function in the game at all?!?!?Well, there's one called "arranging matches with your friends via a computer IM service"...

look, people would like to be able to comminucate with random match ups in game. Finding people via IM service is stupid. Please stop suggesting things like that.

I agree. Plus what if you want to voice chat with your clan while playing a game? I mean you have to tell them your stratagy.

If they're clan members, you're going to have their online handles. Therefore you know who they are. Therefore you should have their IM details. Therefore you can arrange a TeamSpeak session.

You can't chat to random people, this is true, but you know... that's life. It's a handheld, you can't expect miracles from it. I'm still impressed that I can play online on one.

but your still missing the point. The back isn't refering to teamspeak or vent. I know we COULD use that, but we don't want to. It says it supports it, and we'd like to know how, not get pointed to teamspeak. if that was useful to us then this thread would have been over a long time ago. Also, it's very plausable that you could have at least a half-serious clan without actually commiting to exchanging data with other members. It'd be nice if it could all be self contained rather than requiring being with your PC... because that defeats the purpose.

but your still missing the point.
Would I be correct in saying that the 'point' is for a couple of people to rant about how there was a mistake on the box of the game, even though that mistake didn't really affect you other than giving you an oppertunity to rant about something?

I'm right, amn't I?

No. I have a headset. I'm not a super-serious worms online player, but if I can yell at morons for being morons and gloat like a jerk whenever I'm winning online, I'd like to know how to do it.

People keep suggesting alternatives - I don't give a **** about alternatives - I want what I think is there. If it isn't it'd be nice for a dev to just say it was left out.

I would think that one of the team 17 staff would answer by now but it seems that they are shying away. BTW, I like to hear mistakes from the people that make them. Peoples suggestions may correct but I rather hear it directly from the source

that entirely defeats the purpose of the psp, though. if you are sitting at home, you might as well just play wa.

Don't be pert.

It's scheduled and something will be available soon. And later too...

that entirely defeats the purpose of the psp, though. if you are sitting at home, you might as well just play wa.Well, that depends rather. I might want a scheme with some of WOW2's new weapons in it. Or a vertical island/cavern map as opposed to a horizontal one. Or I may want to be able to check the Internet while it's my opponent's turn, without putting my life in the hands of WA's minimise function. Or I may have used IM or IRC to arrange a friend code match, and feel I might as well keep chatting to them using that. Or they may not have WA, even though I do have it.

I rarely use my DS as a portable machine. I have it because it I've got some very nice games for it that I don't have on PC, such as Advance Wars: Dual Strike, or Meteos, or Mario Kart DS, or... well, Worms Open Warfare 2. Portability is just a bonus for me. Particularly now I have a laptop for a PC anyway.
