Well, the problem is quite simple. I've just got my new laptop with Windoze Vista on it (indeed), and its bloody DVD drive just won't read it ! Then, I can't even install it... Tried with an external USB DVD burner, same problem, so I assume the problem comes from the OS. (it can't come from the DVD itself, since it works well with my PC, which has XP... The USB burner works all right on it too)

Any solution, apart removing Vista and installing good old XP ?

I had a similar problem when I went to install W4M on my new Vista rig. You need to update the drivers for your DVD-ROM drive (which can be done through Vista's Device Manager) and then download the latest Starforce drivers. That should solve the problem.

Also, don't type "Windoze". It wasn't funny when Amiga Format used to say it back in 1994, and it's not funny now.

My DVD-RW drivers are already up to date, and when I search for StarForce drivers, I get only the driver update tool (http://www.star-force.com/protection.phtml?c=91) (and there is no StarForce driver to update on my computer)

Sorry, didn't know that.

if u still do not have it working..

just copy all of the files on ur dvd drive to a folder on ur 'working' pc..
share this folder and install on other pc through the ethernet,
it worked for me :P
just run setup.exe on the folder u shared :D
my sec pc only has a cdrom drive and did not read dvds ..
this way i could install it without installing a dvd drive first :D

Not really, because he doesn't even have the StarForce drivers until he's installed W4, and that's what he can't do.

Windows Vista: she are a biatch.

Have you tried using Windows XP compatibility mode? According to Squirminator2k, it seems to work.

Vista's compatibiltiy mode has been very helpful to me so far, certainly moreso than WinXP's compatibility settings ever were. It's certainly worth giving a go.
