Hi, I'm new here, but I have had Worms 2 for a long time and I have played it a lot. I finished the single player missions, and now I'm getting bored.
I recently found out that I could play Worms 2 online.
I decided to try. When I got to the "page," I saw that there was nobody playing. I tried the next day and still nothing.
I just wanted to know if anybody still plays this game online.
i don't think i have anything wrong with the setup.
Thanks

Yeah, there's still an active community.
It might depend what time of day you're trying to find a game, though?
And if that's not it, do you have a router?
Do you have dx9.0c?
What are the details of the server you're trying to connect to?
What version of W2 do you have?

Hope to see you online soon :)

I think I have the old version of Worms 2. My brother gave it to me so I'm not sure. I do have a router. I have all the patches. I try to play online in the evening. I'll try today some other time.

Right now, I am on the screen that says "lobby" in the left hand corner and there are two windows that say "games available" and "lobby". It does not seem like there is any games open, and no one joins my game that I hosted.

Sounds like there's nobody online there then. I usually can find some people at around 3PM GMT time.

Above your frontend icon (picture of a worms head) there is a number. Mine says "107". What does yours say?

I'm sorry regulator, I have no idea what you are talking about, where can I find that number? I looked everywhere.
Ok, now I have another problem, you know when you try to play a game just on your computer, like on the multiplayer mode, right before you play, there is a cartoonish looking disk in the center of a black screen "filling up." This is when the game is loading. It looks like a pie graph, and the "slices" get brighter. Anyway, when that is supposed to be happening, on my computer it says this, along with the dreadfully annoying sound when you are trying to access something that can't be accessed, that WA sound or like a quick note played on a trumpet.
"Microsoft Visual C++ Running Library X
X"
That is what it says, when this happens, I have to exit by pressing esc.
This was the best way I could describe the problem in detail, thanks.

go to the folder that the game is installed to. change the "view" to "Large Icons" and then look at the frontend.exe. tell us the number in its icon.

for windows XP, change the "view" to "Icons".

Ok guys, I changed the view to icons, but there is no numbers. the icon of the folder is a 2 inside of a white circle, inside of a blue square. There is no worm/worm head. BTW, I am still having a big problem with
"Microsoft Visual C++ Running Library X
X"
Thanks

try changing the view to thumbnails then.

did you apply the 1.0015 patch? that generally solves the runtime error.

Is it a legal version? It sounds like it could be a version error, but don't apply the patch franpa suggested until you know what version you have.
Try right-clicking on the icon you use to launch the game, and checking it's properties. Anything?

Ok, I changed to thumbnails and still nothing.
I have version 1.0, I saw it somewhere. I have patches on my desktop, but everytime I click on it, it always tells me to unzip the file, I do that and nothing happens. I still can't play anything now. Oh..I didn't buy this CD, my brother copied it from his "legal" CD and gave me the copied one.

That would be the problem then. It's copy-protected. You'll need to use the proper CD, or buy yourself your own one, and let your brother have his one.

So you're saying that because I have a copied CD, I can't use Worms 2 on the web? What about the runtime library problem that is refusing to let me play? I still can't even play a game. I was able to play fine before I tried to play on the web.

I said, the CD has copy protection. That copy protection screws up any attempted playing or installation. Its an Anti-Piracy measure, so for pete's sake get a proper version.

Anyway, I reported Regulator, chrobar, Kooper and Franpa for either being or helping pirates. Expect infraction points/loss of privalages.
