I did very much fall in love with the shading. Its also a picture that you can take a second, third and fourth look at and see something new. I didn't notice that mine in the background until now (and I bet no one else reading this post did!)

I don't think I've ever played a Worms game with the "POOT!" effect, but I wish I have.

Comic idea:

Two worms on the same team are in a hole in the ground. Another worm on a different team walks up to them, carrying a banana. He peers over the edge of the hole

Enemy worm: Hey there, I'm here to destroy you.
Worm 1: Oh well, that's what we get for living in a turn-based universe.
Worm 2: Aren't you a little bit close to be firing that thing?
Enemy worm: (jumps down) Nah, see this is a suicide attack.

Enemy worm: Well, I'm low on health and there's two of you guys, so my commander thought it'd be a good trade-off for the extra accuracy of point-blank range.

His is at a different angle to that though if you at the tail. The hands would be facing backwards.

Well, simplest suggestion is "the fingers are too long compared with the main bit of the hand".

See, now you've got a problem, because both of your last two pictures are near-identical in worm shape. Just to make sure even, I layered one on top of the other. You haven't been making them from scratch.

I've got them stacked one of top of the other in fireworks right now and your sgt fusion pic and the dragonball worm are both EXACTLY the same shape. there's not a single pixel difference. even if you had traced it (which would make your statement a lie even then) the pixels would be different. what you've done is an exact copy.

here. I'm uploading the two images. the dragonball is 50% transparent on aligned on top of the sgt fusion worm. note how you can't tell the difference.

I used to hate it, honest I did, but then I started mucking about with it and found that certain techniques work really well (for example, the scribbly style I used in those drawings a page or so back).

Art is all about the look. If it looks crap, chances are it is. That's the bottom line really. Paint can look disgusting if you don't know what you're doing, but it's the same with drawing in Flash or Photoshop or some other third thing that's critically acclamied for its awesome - it's how you use the tool that matters.

What I meant is: If he uses paper and pencil, he'll get the hang of it easier. Then, go to paint. But if he still uses the spray for the smoke (heck, he uses two styles for 2 different smokes, now that I notice... and I like the left one.)... Well, it won't look as good if he doesn't do it perfectly. Also, the tiny details like the hands are easier to do in paper. With potenTial (I'm spanish, give me a break, it's "potencial" in my language :p) I meant easier to improve.

I didn't argue with the pupils, since I loved how they turned out, and it's practically impossible to get that same result without paint. That's why I said to stick if he wanted.
