Have you purchased a legal copy of the game?
If so, what version is it?
To find out the version, check the number above the head of the worm on the frontend shortcut.

that only works if you view icons an not any other view...

Install and run the game from the CD drive with the lowest drive letter.

E.g.:
D:\ is lower than E:\

This includes virtual drives too.
If you happen to only have 1 CD drive at all, I have no idea.
